Started work on another conversion project, with the focus on producing all of the options of the Ancient Spanish lists. Bulk of the lights kindly provided by Timurilank (Old Glory figures) and I’m adding some more Old Glory and Donnington Miniatures to the mix and painting/basing all to be consistent with my latest style.

Well I have got the foundations laid for my late medieval / early renaissance (ie 1400-1500) 25mm Portuguese DBA adventurers.
From my lead mountain I have now de-flashed and primed enough 25/28mm figures for 6 elements of Bw (crossbow) and 5 elements of Ps (mix of sling, bow, crossbow and arquebus) and 6 elements of Arquebus to replace the crossbows if I want to go beyond 1500.
Lancashire Games (their own medievals and some of their Hinchliffe medievals / renaissance) has been source (with few odd figures from my lead mountain) for 8 Bd elements and a generals element; so I have my base of 12 elements plus variations for my colonial Portuguese.
It is (so far from my ongoing reading) unclear when Portuguese colonists began training African sword and buckler types (Bd in DBA) although the book by John Laband gives 1482 as the founding date for the 'feitoria' / factory at Sao Jorge da Mina and says there was a "stone fortlet" with "garrison of 60 soldiers and African auxiliaries" who were stationed in surrounding villages. Over the next 20 years this one factory / trade station doubled the income of the Portuguese Crown with its silver exports to Portugal.

These links are not public. They go to a private f*c*book group only open to members with accounts. Sigh! Lots of groups are going "private" on FB , due to the amount of spammers on there .

Lots of groups are going "private" on FB , due to the amount of spammers on there . Shame but posting such, private links here is futile. The only people who can view the pictures are those with a F*c*book account and are members of the group in which case they will have seen them already. Everyone else is blocked. As we discussed this before, I'll restate: 1) It's not futile - Not everyone on the DBA FB pages picks up on the photos immediately, so it is a useful prompt for some. 2) It's a little nudge to join our wonderful community, as not everything in the world of the Book of Face is evil - come on in, the water's lovely P.

Paul, Always good to hear about your painting. Its good to share images here too, in this community. But its a choice thing. Not everyone cares to share with facebook (not the groups and their members as such from my point of view) but with Facebook / whatever they are now given past terrible abuse of private info... of course you could argue nothing is private once its on facebook, but clearly the private photo pages are !! All best CarlL
