25mm camels from Historical Resins (bought last year). Hard to paint, thanks to the detail.

Just about halfway through a large 2mm War of the Spanish Succession Allied Army, French still to start. Be using them with Horse, Foot and Guns How large is 2mm? Baldie - I think (but don’t quote me on this) that they’re about 1/3 the size of 6mm figures. But I could be wrong… 🤣😂

Be using them with Horse, Foot and Guns May I ask - Do you use 40mm wide bases, or use smaller bases ? And are they Irregular Mins? Would love to see more pics if you get a chance to post, eg on your Solitary Wargamer blog. (Just seen your Napoleonic 2mm 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼).

FWIW - next on my radar is 2mm Irregular Miniatures strips for the various Wars of Liberation in South America in the early 19th century. I’ll be basing these on 20mm frontage & 10/15mm depth (depending whether infantry or cavalry). So effectively these troops will be on 1/2 size DBA bases. I could even scale up and bunch 4 bases together to make a “standard” size DBA base element. Games would be playable on a 12” square battlefield, which isn’t going to require too many terrain features. Easily portable. Cost should be relatively low - my plan is for 8-12 infantry strips, 4-6 cavalry strips and a couple of light artillery pieces per side (Royalists and Patriots). Errrr… the only thing is I have zero painting ability, so base & prep figure bases and then have to get a “proper painter” to paint ‘em. At least this way there’s a chance they’ll make it onto the tabletop, rather than just adding to the mountain of unpainted lead… Cheers, Geoff

Martin - which rules? Heaven forbid I’ve thought that far ahead.
Maybe DBA-HX, or The Portable Wargame (possibly even the FP3x3PW variant), or One Hour Wargame or Alan Saunders HotT inspired “Liberated Hordes”. TBH I’d overlooked IGaBC - in my defence I’ll claim ‘cause it’s a good few years later.
DBx basing is always a useful standard to adhere to - even with my “1/2 size” basing. And, as I mentioned previously, I mostly game solo - so, as long as I’m happy…
Rather than just stick to one particular campaign I thought I’d keep the uniforms fairly generic, so I can fight pretty much any of these wars and be reasonably “in-the-ballpark” as far as uniforms go.

Last week I finished a very small 15mm West Sudanese army.... I know I did a large one in 28mm at start of the year... madness but this was one with its roots in medieval Hausa states of West Africa but intended to be gamed in 1900 AD versus the British West African Frontier Force. There are 12 elements, 6 Spears, 2 knights, 4 shot, so I suppose I could pretend they are early firearms. Not that I did these with a nod to my DBA list and previous Big DBA 28mm army; more a Portable Wargames nod!! Hopefully my images (via Imgur) will display as I keep fforgetting how to post images here!! CarlL

Lovely stuff CarlL. A really colourful army. How successful they’ll be on the tabletop battlefield is another matter. Let us know how you get on.
Cheers,
Geoff

I will put picks on my Solitary Wargamer page as soon as both armies are finished. Also have to get some pics of my American Civil war 2mm armies taken.

A lot of other distractions this weekend - not a lot of time spent at home, so even less spent at the painting desk
I based a lot of previous completions and finished off 1x3Kn for the Morean Byzantine and some tents and camp followers for the Guti Great revolt.
I also went deep into one of the old shafts of the Lead Mines of Mt Neverpaint and made up three more armies Norse Irish Scots Isles Sumer Great Revolt
I already have these armies but the figures are too nice not to paint.
Cheers
