I'm painting some Gripping Beast 28mm Dark Age warriors for my Anglo-Saxon army. They are lovely figures to paint. I'm really impressed with the quality and having so much fun getting them ready.

Museum's 'Z' range Mycenaeans. Nearly done with the spearmen. Do show when done I would like to see some. Flush with success I put the other 15 bases of Pike t one side to carry on a rebasing project, been adding some LBM shield decals as well. They are great but could do with being a bit wider for the Xyston shields. Or I could just not be doing them justice, they do look amazing en mass. 1 x 8 Sp (G) 1 x 8 Sp 8 x Sp 5 x Cv or Kn at a push 2 x Fast Aux Got 4 more bases os Sp to do and they can be pretty much any of the Greeky forces No doubt i will do up a Spartan force as well as they deservd their own shields and kit. Addition of mord pike and the number of forces they can be used as grows significantly. I do love the Greeks Britcon, do I take EAP as promised for a multiple EAP off or do i go with the Greeks?

Ok obsession level hit, I have done pretty much no painting for month and months. Now full on with Greeks and Seleucids, I hear the Roman's rattling in the box as well.
I love it when a project grabs you and you get a burst of speed.

Ok then maybe a little, just had a look at the Greeks and I have sufficient for my modest needs. It was a chum selling me 12 bases of Greeks that got me into DBA and ancient gaming and I am forever thankful to him. Cheers Dave

Great work "Baldie" all power to your painting mojo. Pity the Romans are already 'crucifying' the Seleucids and Greeks (in your first photo) before you get them 100% painted. CarlL

CarlL I find it motivates the rest of the force Got the next batch upgraded with nice shields and based up ready for some shrubbery. Uunfortunately for the rest of the pikes my chums have started a LOTR campaign. Despite being enthralled with The Hobbit and all things middle earth since childhood I have never gotten into gaming in the realm. A chum made me an offer I could not refuse on some Orcs so I am in. Nto great paint jobs as he experimented with contrast paints but think I can sort, I am also re painting them green. Good old prof Tolkien did a stand up job but ever scolar knows Da Boyz is green. Plike def get sorted shortly.
