I've returned to this project by starting work on the figures for the troop types required to bring the PMR up to code. The figures for the 1x4Cb and WWg crew. I hope to complete these figures tomorrow. Cheers, Yesterday I completed the foot figures for the PMR upgrade project and today I hope to commence on the figures for the 1x3Cv element. Cheers, The figures for the 3Cv element have been painted and glued to their base. I'm in the midst of the basing technique for the 1x4Cb and 1x3Cv. The goop was applied yesterday and I've started applying a bases coat to it. Shortly I'll commence applying flocking. Cheers,

A good weekend at the painting table despite the low temperatures
3xPs for the Morean Byzantine 2x3Ax for the Guti Great Revolt 1x3Bw, 1xPs for the Elamites 2x5Hd for the Later Hungarians - the last army from my 2.2 stable to bring up to purple compliance
This made both the Guti and the Elamites legal (ie I can now field a legal 12 element army from what is painted)
Cheers

Recently received two Pre-Feudal Scots commands of which 48 pike are ready to be primed. These are Feudal Castings, now sold by Thistle and Rose (US) and will be a fine addition to the list of opponents for the Normans.

They are lovely figures. Shipping took two weeks which included a brief period at customs.

The Scots are totally covered with paint. Now the joyous task of detailing the clothing. I plan to do a dozen figures each day, so brush strokes will be consistent.

The 48 Pre-Feudal pikemen are done, they will receive mat varnish later this evening. Painting the vertical and horizontal stripes was made easy. The six clothing colours were painted on a sheet of paper. Then, a further six colours were selected to see which would look best in a Celtic pattern. From the six, I selected four for the final step. Cleaning the mounted and light troops can begin tomorrow.

Yes, the sweat shops were busy. The remainder, 10 mounted and 26 foot, will be easier to paint. The Thegns have chainmail covering their clothing, the Galwegians wear solid colours, which leaves the light horse and archers to paint like the pikemen.
