I'm not as good as a painter as the people above me, but I'm happy to have finished this. Touching up some of those tiny mistakes the camera picks up on so well, as I type this. Calling these guys a command chariot, or a CWg/ CP. I know some people don't like to mess with the army lists/ rules, but it's hard for me to enjoy painting/ buying/ assembling miniatures, if I know the list doesn't historically reflect the army. (I lost a piece to that chariot, going to have to make that and a umbrella for the chariot, eventually.) Command chariots differ from HCh and LCh, by resembling a CP, a CWg such as the Carrocio Standard Wagon, or a CP. It usually consists of one chariot or a small group of chariots accompanied by bodyguards (usually mounted). The chariot(s), carried the more important military officials and advisors, and were used to raise flags and signal movements for the army, as well as get off the battlefield if the battle was going poorly. Such as in 200 CE, after Cao Cao had burned the granaries at Wu Chao, Yuan Shao and 800 of his close advisor/ generals, fled Guan Du, leaving behind almost all of the infantry (30,000-80,000), to surrender and be reportedly buried alive by Cao Cao. The command chariot as a CWg or a CP, is aimed at representing this group of 800, in the anecdote above. Late Han and the Warlords that followed the collapse of the Han, still used chariots as symbols of power and prestige, sometimes even copying royal chariots in the dreams of becoming emperor one day, like the governor Liu Yan attempted in Ba-Shu (right before he died, due to lightening striking the building these faux royal chariots were in causing sever burn damages to his body). Awsome work.

I've started work on bringing my Post Mongol Russians up to code. I originally bought this army on eBay back in the twilight days of 2.2. Unfortunately I can't recall who was the vendor. I have purchased from Khurusan Miniatures packets of Cv and Cb figures for a 1x4Cb element, crew for a pair of WWg that I'll attempt to scratchbuild and one element of Cv. Today was spent refreshing the greenery on the bases and tomorrow I'll tart up the snow to represent an early Spring thaw. Once completed I'll post images on the 2 FB DBA pages. Cheers, Seems that the "snow" needs a bit more effort than just a touch up. I've coated all of the snow with a white primer. Once that is dried and cured I'll go over it with a warm white. The following step will be applying gloss modge podge then dusting that with Woodland Scenics "Soft Snow". Depending on how that looks, I may finish with a drybrush with a pearl-essence effect paint. I'll report on how that goes. Cheers,

So together we came up with an alternative technique. White primer was laid down over the original snow finish. Once dried, a coat of gloss Mod Podge was applied and while still active Woodland Scenics "Soft Snow" was dusted over the base. The snow effects was the soaked with a 50/50 PVA and water solution. Once this solution dried I painted the snow with Citadel's Contrast Colour Apothecary White. The final step was to then drybrush with white. I'm much happier with the results. Next up are the figures for the 1x4Cb element and the 2xWWg. Once this project is finished I'll post images on the 2 FB DBA pages. Cheers,

I finished off the Cv general for my Morean Byzantines - but spent most of the time at the painting desk sorting figures from the depths of the Lead Mines of Mt Neverpaint into armies.
Cheers

I hope to complete these figures tomorrow. Cheers,

No more painting progress but I have put together more armies from the loose figures in the lead mines, some to use myself and some to on-sell as I already have these armies
cheers
