I've split my remaining Indians into two groups....pre-1300AD Tamils & Indians and post 1300AD plus Tibetan allies.I did some more work on the pre-1300AD Hindus & Tamils tonight and made good progress. With the ‘post-1300AD’ Indians, do you go for barded/quilted armour horses? What other differences are there between your two groups? Yes and No Martin, I'm using Ian Heath's notes from Armies of the Middle Ages 2 and the early DBM lists as a guide (I don't have the DBMM lists).Which say the Hindus did have a small proportion of Cavalry on armoured horses but we're mostly unarmoured (DBM allows you to upgrade 3 of 16 elements to armoured cavalry). However, they did use Muslim mercenaries so I have a sort of mix of the two....I have an element of Barded Muslim Cavalry (Essex Medieval Persians) and I use unarmoured cavalry from the Essex 15mm (Renaissance) for the others. Infantry stayed much the same apart from the added Rocket artillery which I acquired from the Outpost Enterprises Crusader Islamic range. www.outpostwargameservices.co.uk/images/Web%20Photos/masters/ci24.jpgElephants too are much the same but Hindu art does not depict a lot of Howdahs, so I only have one for the General.Elephants can be armoured(Outpost also do a reasonable armoured elephant in their Ghaznavid range which is far cheaper than Essex). www.outpostwargameservices.co.uk/images/Web%20Photos/nikg/ghazeleph2.jpgI felt I needed to use different Cavalry for the Hindus as I have Tibetan allies which roughly cover the 7th-9th Centuries time period and the later Cavalry looks better with the Rocket artillery and armoured elephants.

Some good work the past three days has seen
2x4Pk for the Macedonian Early Successor (Olympias) - this completes the army - No. 144 in my stable 1x3Bd(Gen), 1x4Bw, 1xHCh(Gen) and 1xPs for the Akkadians (a list) 1xLCh for the New Kingdom Egyptian (b list)
I also finished basing the last batch of painted figures from last week and am close to finishing the Sung Chinese camp. When this is done I'll be putting pictures up on the Book of Face.
I also put the first dabs of paint on my Lysimachid army.

The 5x4Lb have been completed. The 2x3Kn and 4x4Bd have been glued to their bases and I'll be applying goop to the bases tomorrow. 1x3Bw and 1x4Cb have been touched up as well. Once the figures that are part of a Khurusan order arrive I'll be able to complete these two armies, IV/62b and IV/64a. Cheers, The 2x3Kn, 4x4Bd, 1x3Bw and 1x4Cb for the HYW English are now based, gooped and tufted. Both the French and English will go into "winter quarters" and await the arrival of "recruits" from Khurusan. Cheers, Having completed refurbishing the Corvus Belli figures for the 2 HYW armies I realised that I had a number of figures that were excess to requirements. I've decided to refurbish these figures as well. So I'll have enough to furnish 1x3Cb, 1xSp and 2x4Bd. As well, I'll be able to repurpose figures and bombards used for 2xArt into an artillery park camp. Cheers,

Yesterday was a basefest as I finished off basing last weeks completions and finished phase 1 of more recent completions.
I also finished 1xLH for the Tibetans and got a number of strips much closer to finished. If I can get to the paint desk today we may see some more done before the weekend is out.
Cheers

In the end I spent most of Father's Day binge watching 'WandaVision' on Disney+
But in the evening I snuck out to put the finishing touches on the basing of some recent completions AND finished 1x3Ax and 1x4Ax for my Lysimachid army

I had a big day at the painting desk yesterday and finished off 1xLCh(Gen), 1x4Pk, 2xPs and 1x3Ax for the Akkadians
It was a bigger day behind the camera, and now I have posted pix of 3 new armies up on the Book of Face - in the DBA groups
Today conspiracy to commit gardening became gardening occasioning actual bodily harm, so I didn't get to any painting today. Some preliminary work on basing the recent completions and prepping the next batch of figures.
Cheers
