After a break for some work and a bout with the flu (sister-in-law and niece tested positive, brother didn't for COVID - didn't go in for test myself) looking at finishing painting and gluing to bases 4-1/2 elements of OG15 OR06 SP for my Later Crusaders, a 4KN element of Early Essex/Mike's cataphracts for my LIR, and two PS elements of Essex MID64 Javelinmen for the early Medieval pool.

The four Solid Pike elements for my II/19d Seleucids are done, sans flocking the bases. (15mm Mikes Models.) Alas, they can easily be shot to pieces by a line of cheap Nabataean archers.

Close fast and roll high, my friend Uh, they're Solid Pikes. They don't do anything quickly. But, as least, they'll be screened by Psiloi for as long as possible.

A very productive couple of days with the paints - I've finished
3xLH for the Trapezuntine Byzantine - another army brought up to Purple Compliance 1xLH for the Numidians - this army is also complete 2x3Bw for the Northern Sung Three Generals (1x3Bd, 1x3Bw, 1x4Bw) for the Zagros Highlanders 1xEl for the Macedonian Early Successor (Olympias)
I also finished basing a cheap and nasty 'Hillbilly Hoplite' army - II/5l Black Sea Greeks from figures I acquired from a deceased estate. They are primarily Peter Liang figures with a smattering of others.
Cheers

//Baldie, If you have not already seen it, I can recommend ‘1812’, a four-part Russian documentary of the French invasion of Russia. Many of the lesser known engagements are covered and brief biographical vignettes of key leaders are well done. English sub-titles. Star Media English 1812. Napoleonic Wars in Russia - Episode 1 www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l0j4_Xo-5M // I recommend the EPIC HISTORY Napoleonic series. www.youtube.com/watch?v=byH2WhzXjcQ

Over the weekend I also put the first dabs of paint on my Khurusan Ottoman army. (Flesh/Wood/Metal)
In the process I discovered that I had accidentally mixed up some Nubian archers (from the Khurusan NKE range) with Azab archers (the Nubian Hairdo is slightly more exaggerated than on other ranges).
In my defence your honour 1) The light was dim in the garage while I was prepping the figures 2) I had not ordered any Azab Archers - you need 4 and the pack you get from Khurusan has 12 3) I had ordered the pack of Azabs with javelins and so could fill out the Ialyars and the Azabs from one pack (the lists do not specify the armament of the Azabs).
All up the Azabs with javelin look much cooler so I am more than happy to have them playing both roles. But it was a lucky save.
Cheers

Today I completed the Ps element and I'm about halfway through the the 7Hd element. Cheers, Yesterday I finished the 7Hd element. Today I'll begin the first 3 bases of 3Wb for the Ancient British. Cheers, The first 3 elements of fast Warband are completed. I'm halfway through the first element of LH, meaning that the horses have been painted. These Forged in Battle figures are great to work with. Cheers,

After months of painting gap, I am setting up some Caesar 1/72 ancient Nubians (I/3) this morning for painting. As all all infantry army, I can probably keep at it better than anything with horses.

Been a while since my last update, in that time I have painted and glued to bases -
an element of PS using a pair of later Medieval crossbowmen of unknown manufacturer, two elmeti with Roundway miniatures (one RKV1 general, 4 RKV10 knights, and a RKV11 'light'), three elements of Pruss PS (finishing off the half element already done) using Gladiator FE28 archers, 4 elements of Pruss 3WB and one of WB with Gladiator a mix of Gladiator FE27 and 28 (giving me the ability to field an all option DDBA Pruss army), two elements of 3BD composed of Roundway RKS10 (I believe) half armored Swiss halberds, and another 3BD element using a pair of RKS11 Lucerne levy with hammers and a Roundway unarmored Swiss halberder (code not readable).
By the way - Does anyone have a copy of a Roundway catalog or figure list? With the demise of the website I can't ID some of the figures I hadn't already cataloged.
