Paul, are those shield designs transfers or hand painted? If transfers, what make are they? If hand painted, I hate you!!

I debuted my III/27 Rshtuni Armenians (15mm Essex) this weekend against III/25b Arab Conquest. Here they are in a posed shot below. My parish priest (Episcopal), who is well versed in his Eastern iconography, gave me some good insights on Armenian iconography and plenty of images to paint. And in their debut game (below), outdoors and socially distanced, of course! The "Rushtoonies" would go 3-4 against Arab Conquest and III/31 Umayyad Arabs. Surprisingly, only once was one of the Armenian 6Cv elements lost. Both pairings proved to be really entertaining match-ups. Very nice looking army Paul. Are they Essex figures or another manufacturer? Cheers,

Thanks, all. Yes, Gregorious, both the Armenians and the Arabs are all Essex. And, yes, Sonic, all shields & banners are hand-painted. Someday, I'm sure I'll start using transfers, but not yet. :-)

The first element of 3Kn of the Feudal English was completed this morning and I've begun the 2nd element of 3Kn, featuring William de Forz, William d'Aubigny and Robert de Vipont. The figures have been glued to painting nails and primed using Vallejo products. With a very busy weekend in the offing I doubt that I'll be able to apply any colour. Cheers, Despite my concerns that I wouldn't get any painting done over the weekend I was able to paint up the 3 Kn figures. They are only awaiting for Wf(X) to apply the heraldic devices to the shields. Then I'll be able to base and flock the figures. Cheers, I'm really pleased with how Wf(X) has hand painted the heraldry on the 2x3Kn figures! I've just finished cleaning up and appling the figures to painting nails for the next next element of 3Kn. This element will include Philip d'Aubigne, Alan Basset and William de Cantelou. I'll be able to prime tomorrow and then apply pigment. Cheers,

Today I put the finishing touches on a number of strips that were close to complete when I last picked up the brush.
This gave me 1x7Hd for the Northern Sung 2x4Pk and 1xPs for the Low Countries 1xPs and 1xEl for the Numidians 2x4Pk for the Tigranid Armenian
The Armenians are now complete making army No. 133 in my stable
Cheers

Before I got busy with some work projects at the end of February I managed to paint and glue to bases 2 3AX elements of Minifig Z-70 Armenian javelinmen, 2 LH elements of Asgard/Alternative MRC05 Italian Mounted Crossbows, and 2 SP elements with Minifig Z-246 11th Century French infantry.
There was a bit of 'bloom' on the Armenians and French so I went with the ammonia bath lead rot treatment before undercoating them and use solvent based paints rather than water based as a further precaution.
This month has seen 3 elements of Alternative's MEG-2 Late Gun Sets for the Burgundians. According to Heath's Armies of the Middle Ages these guns appeared in the 1470s and as the Burgundians were noted as having long bronze guns that outranged the Swiss it seemed appropriate to paint up the crews in Burgundian colors.
P.S. those Bagratid Armenians are very nice, paul!!! Definitely will be looking at them when working on mine. Don't suppose that the iconography and images were available in digital format?

The Post Mongol Russians have arrived and 7 x Cv should be ready for an undercoat later today. A dozen flags were painted last week and this will serve as an excellent stimulus.
