Finally made a start on my pike blocks. Got 14 bases of em on the go and still need more as they will go on to play in Lart and DBMM games.
For lart I want em to be 3 or 4 bases deep to look like a deep block with the rear bases going back in box when flanked etc.

I nearly missed this. Well done and a very impressive army. Eagerly awaiting my first order of Donnington knights and crossbowmen.

Glad you like it and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the Donnington New Era range. My IV/38 Murcian & Granadine army, now underway, will also made up predominantly of their figures, with a few Essex chucked in for good luck. P.

( I can no longer tell which) It's all part of the long build-up to the 2024 NC theme - Wars of the Four Gods - where I need to paint up 13 new armies and rework 5 old ones (the Early Byzantines being one of them - just redid the bases in my latest style and only need to add 2x4Bd to make them compliant), with only 2 of my current armies being recycled in full to make up the 20 required on the day. P.

Great Success! Finally finished the last 3 stand options for my Burgundian Ordonnance army. For some reason I couldn't bring myself to finish the Mtd 4LB for the longest time. Just a few more Yorkist stands to complete then, hopefully, I can wrap up my Early Swiss army fairly quickly ( being that its nearly an all infantry army it should go more quickly)

I still marvel at your shield patterns, two coloured rings and an eight pointed star. It took a while to register that the figures are Essex as I did not recognize them at first, very nice.

Many thanks - my shield work is one area that my painting skills have definitely improved upon in the past year or so. They are cool figures by Essex, I agree. P
