On Sunday I finally got the paints out again - I finished 1x3Kn, 1xSp and 1x7Hd for the Italian Lombards.
Both the Lombards and the Muslim Sicilians are close to completion, so close that I have started prepping the Beja and the East Frankish which are the last two armies in the collection.
cheers

Spurred on by the recent battle between the Umayyad and Sogdian I finished refurbishing 18 horse archers. The amount of time spent was close to painting new casting, but they do look smart. Next step is an element or two of lancers and a command element and the Chionites should be ready for battle next week.
In the meantime, my lead pile is growing – four DBA armies. It feels good to be alive.

Final spear pieces arrived to allow me to finish the Pre-Feudal Scots for the Northern Cup 2021 and that will mean they’re all done, bar some touching up of the bases to make the look consistent.
Meanwhile, I’ve been adding to my 100 Yrs War English to give all options for each sub-list 7Hd are done (pictures on FB) and now just basing up some 3 and 4Lb.

Also love those backdrops you keep finding.
I keep thinking with the last one, are the people up in that village happy to see your army or terrified they are coming for them?!

Finished painting and glued to bases a pair of old Museum smellies. A command EL and a line EL.
Have been back burned for a couple of months while I worked on the house and vehicle and did a bit of hunting. Also had to attach the fighting platforms and so waited until I had other figures to epoxy.
They will go into the next batch to be varnished.

I have begun gradually spraying painted armies with Dullcote over their high-gloss varnish. Reviewing old battle reports, the high-gloss finish reflected too much light which detracted from the models. With a 100 plus armies, the process will take some time, but the final result is pleasing,

Nothing. Waiting for the muses to move me. My excuse? We've had a house guest for a week. Now to get back into harness.

Last night I finished the last foot elements (2xPs, 1x3Bw) for my Muslim Sicily & North Africa. A single element of LH is all that is left before the army is complete.
Cheers

I have decided to add two horde to the Central Asian collection. Inspired by the Central City State levy of Khurasan miniatures, I have converted extras of the Sassanid levy by reshaping their headgear. Repainting the figures will start after lunch.
