Our local group is looking for a little variety in its big battle HOTT. We’ve done lots of tournament style games, lined up and go at it. We would like to try a scenario game with some structure to it. Has anyone done such a thing and give me some examples? Thanks

Our local group is looking for a little variety in its big battle HOTT. We’ve done lots of tournament style games, lined up and go at it. We would like to try a scenario game with some structure to it. Has anyone done such a thing and give me some examples? Thanks Bob... Several years ago I ran a six player battle based on SPI' s old Sword and Sorcery board game. The armies were The spider queen (Terry lovvvvved this one). Two dwarves armies. An orc army. An Evil necromancer army And an Elf army. You had an ally for which you received 1 vp for each element you killed...some neutral armies(most others)...2 VPs...and a nemesis..3 Vp.... 6 points for taking anyone's stronghold. All on one table. I ran the game with players 1 & 3 moving and fighting, then 2&4, then 3&6. Any disputes were adjudicated by the ref. It was a blast. I actually have the southern armies partially done. The board is split by a major river. Someday..ok...Nashcon 2020 I will do a 12 player 2 board version. Try something like this. Joe Collins

My boy and I just played "capture the baggage train" in HotT. An Elf baggage train is crossing the board along a road. It is garded by Lu (abstractly in the flanking woods), and by Sp and Sh moving along with it. It moves 200p every bound. It is a 1BW x 2BW element that moves only on the road, with no PIP cost. The escort has to move using PIPs.
It will not move into contact with enemy. It defends at +5 (inherent defence) and exerts no TZ.
The goblins have only Hd and Be to attack it. If they defeat it (beat it in close combat) they win. If it exits the board, Elves win.
It was super fun!
