Unless resin has considerably improved over recent years, don't.
You need a very fine sandpaper to very gently rub down the resin. Can it be hidden by a bush?

I am not sure this is true, but I seem to remember that resin dust is quite hazardous, possibly carcinogenic.
Primitive dust protection might not even be sufficient to avoid these effects.
Please research this before filing or sanding resin.

That would not surprise me, considering I was brought up in the age of lead soldiers etc.
If resin dust is unsafe, then I have no idea, fine sandpaper is what model shops used to sell.
The model manufacturers might be able to help?

I developed a nasty facial dermatitis which after a week of skin testing was attributed to Epoxy Resin vapour on mixing. I don't think the dust is any more carcinogenic than any other similar sized particles.

Thanks Scott for the health point of view.
When I say fine sandpaper it was REALLY FINE. Dad used to make nail emery boards for Mum and my sister from it, using used lollypop sticks meant they were free.

From a health point of view, the finer the dust the bigger the potential problem.

I went with your suggestion of contacting the manufacturer David and they were really helpful. Not only did I get a prompt response they also offer to conversions which could be seporatley priced.
I contacted Hovels who not only said they could offer the altered model at the same price but also suggested alternative models in different scales...top draw!
