Yes a site called "Westeros" has an "encyclopedia" which has entries for various topics like the troop types and battles which summarize them.
But they don't compare to Martin's you are there visceral descriptions of the battles and the actual tension of not knowing which side is going to win and what the cost might be.

Yes credit where etc, the campaign sections of the 1st book are by far the most interesting bits. But I'm more of an highlights guy rather than sitting through a full show. Esp if full show ain't free.

Also there are some extra supplement books which have great illustrations of what Martin thinks the troops should look like (basically like HYW and WOR types) and some more information on weapons/armor. But you have to pick through it - there are no weapons and warfare in Westeros chapters.
