The theme for this year’s Britcon DBA Tournament is .... Who would have ruled the ancient world 2000 years ago if the Romans had no longer been around in the 1st century BC and early in the 1st century AD.
This means that you can bring along any DBA v3 army that is listed as an enemy of the Marian and Early Imperial Romans II/49 and II/56.
BUT – you are not allowed to bring any Romans along, not even as allies.
You can choose from:
I/7d Early Libyan
I/47 Illyrian
I/48 Thracian
I/58 Meroitic Kushite
II/11 Gallic
II/14 Ariarathid Kappadokian
II/20c&d Ptolemaic
II/22a,b&e Arabo-Aramean
II/23a&c Later Pre-Islamic Arab
II/24 Early Rhoxolani Sarmatian
II/25 Bosporan
II/26 Siracae, Iazyges & Later Rhoxolani
II/28a&b Armenian
II/30b&c Galatian
II/37 Parthian
II/39a,b&c Ancient Spanish
II/40 Numidian
II/44 Commagene
II/45b&c Sicilian & Italian Slave Revolts
II/47a,b,c,d,e,f&g Early German
II/48 Mithridatic
II/51 Late Judaean
II/52 Dacians and Carpi
II/53 Ancient British
II/54a Scots-Irish
II/55a Nobades&Blemmye
II/57 Later Moorish
II/58 Alan
II/59 Jewish Revolts
II/60 Caledonian
Let’s see who can carve out a new Empire!!
As well as prizes for those ranked highest, there will also be a prize for the person who does best with a more underpowered army. This will be awarded on the basis of dividing their points earned by the combined combat factors of the elements in their army.
Armies should comply with the DBA v3 lists and be 15mm figures on 40mm basing. Army composition will be chosen before the first round, including whether to dismount, and then remain the same throughout the tournament.
Playing area. 24 inch boards will be provided and participants should bring along appropriate terrain in the event of them being the defender.
Number of games - five games of up to an hour are proposed to allow time for games to run to a result as much as possible and provide opportunities for socialising and visiting the show.
The schedule is:
1000 – Arrivals and introductions
1030 – game 1
1130 – game 2
1230-1330 Lunch
1330 - game 3
1430 - game 4
