DBA Tarrington Tourney 2019
Saturday 9th November 2019, 1000 until 1700
Lady Emily Community Hall Tarrington Herefordshire HR1 4EX
Tarrington is halfway between Hereford and Ledbury; approximately 11 miles from junction 2 of the M50.
Format: “Scramble”
Each player brings any valid 12-element v3.0 army on 15mm base sizes (40mm frontage), camp (camp follower element optional), and terrain for a legal battlefield as the defender, which may include provision of a specific legal board size.
Note that the army will be used by other players. • Players will play AGAINST their own army only in the first round. • Players will use their own army only in the final round. • Players will be matched using Swiss chess format. • Armies will be matched as far as possible to maximise variety (of army used and fought against) for players. • The 12-element army and terrain choices may not be changed between rounds. • Players must use all terrain pieces supplied.
The aim is to have 6 rounds, but may be revised on the day.
Depending upon the number of players and the time to arrange the pairings for each round, there is no guarantee of non-repetition, but priority order will be given to:
1. New opponent each round
2. New army used each round
3. New opposing army each round
Cost will be £5 per player and includes lunch!

Just over a month to go until the first event of next season!
Trophies in production for the usual...
Top three players, scoring 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. Ties broken by sum of opponents' scores, then netted elements as per victory conditions.
Slayer, for most total elements, own and opponent's, removed during the day. SCh, Hd, camp followers and denizens included. Generals and double elements only count one each.
Top army, scored as per players...and
Most Challenging Army, the lowest scoring army, scored as per players.
If you plan on attending please let me know.

Hi
I plan to be there as it's one of my favourite DBA competitions, (along with the Northern Cup).
Presume standard rules are being used and no trial 'in house' amendments?

Looking forward to seeing you. ...and, yes; the only house rule is "no dismounting", i.e. the same 12 elements must be used in all games. An element that may dismount must start all games in a consistent mounted or foot state as specified by the person who enters it into the competition.

Still wishing I could attend - but this November is the 18th Birthday of the younger of my (not so) Little Warbands. The Tarrington Scramble remains on my Bucket List Cheers from Oz

Still wishing I could attend - but this November is the 18th Birthday of the younger of my (not so) Little Warbands. The Tarrington Scramble remains on my Bucket List Cheers from Oz I like it because for most of the time you never know what army you'll be using against what. And that's half the fun, seeing what weird and wonderful combinations people have come up with to mess people up this time (an army with 2 allies anyone?) although using your own army in the last game means there shouldn't be anything too bad. Sometimes it can give unequal match ups (Ah the time I spent 45 minutes with my Hussite War Wagons staring at a load of Fast Welsh bows sitting on Difficult hills, who just stared back!) but even then it was fun! Not sure there's a prize for furthest travelled competitor, but I'm sure you'd be most welcome if you ever made it.
