Presumably once a picture is stored on site any further link to it is just making it visible at that location.
Just as an image linked from a hosting site is not actually in the site storage.
Would definitely prefer to keep good reference photos around rather than setting a time limit.

As I was removing some pictures of mine, I noticed that sometimes people quote a A thread with the picture which is then duplicated. Does this duplicated picture also take up space? Perhaps we should ask people to not duplicate pictures that are already in the thread, and easily found. I think it does. As but can find a definite answer. As you say if people when quoting threads don't duplicate the picture that would certainly help.

I cannot see how to time limit photos but I can delete photos. Each photo is limited to 1MB and each post can have up to 3 photos. I have deleted a whole load of my pictures and that has given us 5MB to play with. Perhaps I could delete all phot's on the site to reset our 250mb. Just a thought Does the allotment include the DBA Wiki? Or, is DBA Wiki separate from the total space allotted? The Wiki is separate.

Okay result of the poll on picture storage is 30% for Purchasing 100mb of extra storage and 65% for using an external hosting site.
Therefore external hosting it is.Either use a site or links to a gallery on your own web page which is what I do.
5% (1 voter) did state the question was too hard and opted for one on sport. They know who they are!
