Obidiah has now given me access to the part of admin I was missing.
I have discovered we have 1MB of picture/attachment storage left!
We can purchase a further 100MB for $10. However I am not sure it's worthwhile as i am sure we will get through that faster than a greased weasel!
So my question is. Shall we increase storage or use a hosting site?
Hence the poll. Poll finishes 21/03/2019 to allow everyone to see it.

A properly linked external site seems best to me. Probably more value and more functional. Maybe some guidelines/rules so we can clean up if it gets too cluttered? Happy to chip in to get extra storage with either option.
Cheers
Jim

Is there a way of, whatever platform we use, putting in a size limit for photos?

put me down for $10.
Can we time limit pics, remove after a year, for example?
How many MB are we using now, I wonder what the greased weasel of 100mb will do.

We have 1mb left since the site started so 250MB since then. The 100MB weasel will be puffed out I guess in about half that time. However we have alot more members now who may start posting pictures.

Don’t mind either way - but we need to do something because that greased weasel is raiding the roost at the moment and stopping all the hens laying.
$10 is a small price to pay to solve the issue but I also like the idea of time limiting photos on the site if that can be done.

I cannot see how to time limit photos but I can delete photos.
Each photo is limited to 1MB and each post can have up to 3 photos.
I have deleted a whole load of my pictures and that has given us 5MB to play with.
Perhaps I could delete all phot's on the site to reset our 250mb.
Just a thought

Just a thought Does the allotment include the DBA Wiki? Or, is DBA Wiki separate from the total space allotted?

Just a thought Wow, 1Mb per photo, that is really big.
Perhaps people need to resize their pics before uploading, and get them down to a decent file size, around 100K to 200K or so.

Just a thought Delete the lot and start from scratch - simpler that way! That’ll give us another year or so. If anyone wants to see and old photo then they can always ask - perhaps a new area for ”Photo Requests.”

Recent photos might still be interesting. Can you delete all photos before six months ago?
How can we find the pictures that we have already posted so that we might eliminate some of ours.?

Bob,
Go to “Profile” then “My Recent Posts” and then scroll though them to find the ones with photos then edit them, delete attachments and save. That’s what I do. It’s a bit laborious. If there is a quicker way can someone let me know.
