The new paperback edition arrived from Lulu today. Took 6 days, including weekend. The cover is now Blue, and it is a little smaller. GO BLUE The paperback quality is excellent for bending and flipping pages. I gave a very quick look. It seems perfect. The paging is off from original by 2 because Lulu counts title and back page as 1 and 2. Not a problem that I can see as the index compensates. The index is itself a bit changed. Some items added and some removed. Do we even need an index for the rules and diagrams? I will leave it to the more energetic to do a word by word comparison:)

Sue posted on the Yahoo group that the color is supposed to be purple, and it is now.

I've bought my copy and had a local binding company remove the spine and turn it into spiral bound for easy gaming use. Works a treat and only cost £4 to do, with product sorted in under 10 minutes - what service!

Availability on Lulu now means that DBA 3.0 can also be ordered from the Book Depository.

A word of warning for those of you who are not members of the various DBA Facebook groups.
It would appear that the text of the two versions differs at certain points. For example, in the section headed "FLEEING" (on page 12 in the Hardback version), in the sentence "It stops before completing its move and lines up if its front edge (or front corner only) contacts any of....", I understand that the words AND LINES UP are missing from the Lulu edition.
Given the trouble we sometimes have interpreting the rules even when we're using exactly the same wording, this textual corruption is an unwelcome development.

A couple more words missing later in the same sentence, the words in question being "except marsh". So following the hardback all troops flee into a marsh. Per Lulu only Psioloi and Light horse do.

Good info Menacussecundus Looks like there are three versions?
Lulu It stops if its front edge (or front comer only) contacts any of: (a) enemy (whom it will fight next bound), (b) friends it cannot pass through (as specified on p.ll), (c) a city, fort or camp, (d) a waterway, or (e) for troops other than Psiloi or Light Horse, any bad going it is not already at least partly in.
Original It stops before completing its move and lines up if its front edge (or front corner only) contacts any of: (a) enemy (whom it will fight next bound), (b) friends it cannot pass through (as specified on p.9), (c) a city, fort or camp, (d) a waterway, or (e) for troops other than Psiloi or Light Horse, any bad going except marsh it is not already at least partly in.
Sue's Book (just missing page reference?) It stops before completing its move and lines up if its front edge (or front corner only) contacts any of: (a) enemy (whom it will fight next bound), (b) friends it cannot pass through, (c) a city, fort or camp, (d) a waterway, or (e) for troops other than Psiloi or Light Horse, any bad going except marsh it is not already at least partly in.

Not that I'm aware of, Martin. These are just a couple of things that have been mentioned on one of the Facebook groups.

Thanks Bob. I wasn't aware of the discrepancy between the original rules and the ones in Sue's book. As you say, it looks as if there are three versions of this one sentence.

Final version will be a pdf.
