Royal Navy Gardner gun and RA field gun: Egyptian infantry shooters: So far that's 25 points. Need to add the Camel Corps to ring the changes or field a bigger force.

Very nice indeed !
Which rules? Hordes of the Empire, perhaps?

Thanks. Straight HOTT was what thoughts were. Infantry shooters, blade general, artillery and shooter again for the Gardner

Sounds good. If you get a chance to look at the ‘Hordes of the Empire’ variant on Hott (by Terry Webb, Paul Potter and Blake Redetzky), it’s a really nice twist on ‘standard’ Hott, with suggested army lists for colonial wars, and a few rules mods and a couple of extra terrain types which all contribute nicely to the feel of it. Inspiring pics in there, too, of colonial troops painted by Paul Potter.
It’s available in the files section of the Hott Yahoo Group, or if you don’t/can’t access that, PM me an e.mail address, and I can send you a copy.
I’ve played a few games with Egyptians/ Anglo-Egyptians vs both Dervish and Western Sudanese (Sokoto) and Boers v Brits., and they work well, with minimal extra to remember over the original Hott rules.
Thoroughly recommended.
