Hi folks.
I heard from someone today that they have been advised that DBA3.0 is out of print and they will not be making another print run as they (WRG) lost money on DBA3.0 - and perhaps are even considering the future of DBA. Is this news to everyone or just me? Anyone got any insights into the future of DBA?

Not an insight. But I cannot see the future of DBA itself in doubt, not when so many play it. But perhaps there will be no further versions unless the community up and run with it.

Amazon UK appears to have only one (overpriced) second-hand copy of the hardback version on offer, but in the UK, Black Hat Miniatures still has some copies available at the old price (£19.99). (https://www.blackhat.co.uk/product/dba-3-0/)
Only a guess on my part, but I suspect that some US stockists will also have copies.
WRG's usual business model seems to be to wait until all the available copies have been sold and then think about another print run, so I wouldn't despair just yet. And if it's just the rules you want, you could always but Sue Laflin-Barker's book.

Yes, I have insights. I think the out of print issue will be resolved this spring. Further, the future of DBA is being considered...
I have no idea concerning monies...though the book is continually sold out...has been through multiple print runs...and had little start costs besides printing.
It would be difficult to lose money in this scenario.

In one of Britain's larger former colonies (USA), "Purple" shows as in-stock and available from On Military Matters for $42.

Obadiah,
Olympian Games had DBA v3.0 available at CanCon in late January, I know because I bought a copy for my son.
As to the future of DBA, it has a loyal support base, plus its quick to learn and play, and requires minimal troops and painting. Its also been around for nearly 30 years. So I don't think its future is in question.
DBA probably won't be the flavour of the month again, but it is the basis for or heavily influences several other systems, and will be played for years to come.

I have full confidence that Sue will not let Dba ever be out of publication, in one way or another. She managed to get H0 TT into Lulu.

Just seen a copy for sale on ebay UK at £14.00. They also have a copy of WRG's reference work 'Armies of Feudal Europe 1066-1300 2nd edition' for sale.
