I'm copying my post over from the other Fanaticus forum, in hopes that it gets a little more exposure among the community.
Thanks!
Zach
Hello all,
I'm a longtime lurker/very occasional poster who enjoys the inspiration and information on the Fanaticus resources page. With that in mind, I contacted Mr. Brantley and received permission to create to create an archived version of the site.
It can be found at fanaticus.website (admittedly not the best URL, but one that was both cheap and somewhat professional looking).
I have only recently begun working on cleaning up the site and making sure all the links are pointing to the right things (I know at the moment that there are several places still pointing to the Original Fanaticus). I also removed Mr. Brantley's direct email link in an attempt to lower spam but left a note stating he was the creator (his contact information is still viewable on the site via the Imperator link on the right hand side). My hope is to have a fully functioning version of the site ready to go by the Sept 1st shutdown date.
If the community finds it useful, I'd be willing to add a link to whatever new discussion forum seems to be the "chosen one" so that the resources and forum can remain linked together. I'd also be happy to use this as a launching point for the posting of new content, if the community thinks that appropriate.
Considering the amount of content that was submitted to the site by individuals, I understand if content creators are unhappy with my wholesale copying of the website. I did it for archival purposes, and while I believe a similar effort was already underway on the wiki page, I would of course be happy to immediately remove any content you authored that you do not want available on this new site. Simply get in touch with me here or via the email on my profile.
I am also happy to simply remove the site altogether if the community does not find it useful, I am just doing this so that the resources that I found so very valuable when getting into Ancients gaming don't totally vanish.
