Our friend David Constable has spent the Christmas period in hospital. His niece Claire tells me he is in no immediate danger, but is on intravenous antibiotics. He has no immediate access to his 'phone as there is no signal in the Worcester Royal Infirmary, but I could pass any regards on via Claire. Scott

Hello all
Thanks for all your wishes.
Went into hospital on the 18th December with what my doctor thought was a trapped nerve.
Came home 1st January having had what the doctor called "almost severe ostio authritise" and an infection in the legs.
This is no fun, the spine is packing up. Pain killers will enable me to carry on to some extent, but it will only get worse.
In the three weeks up to going into hospital I went out of the house three (yes 3) times, twice I got 50 yards, once the marathon, 100 yards. Over the next few weeks I shall see how I get on, however it means not being able to go to DBA events.
Sorry to say I shall miss you all, I enjoyed myself, and you are a friendly bunch of killers. Once at Alvechurch Scott and Karl heard me swear, and that was during a DBA2.2 game.
Happy new year to all DBA players wherever, and whichever version.
David Constable

Happy New Year David it is good to hear from you although your news is not so great.I suffered a back injury last year from which I was fortunatly able to recover, but is purely a symtom of age and wear.I also have Ostio Arthritis in my right knee which is managable but I do need pain relief from time to time. Please remain up-beat as you are and it would be a shame for you to shy away from a hobby you enjoy so much.May I suggest that if your recovery does not give you the mobility you need then the possibility of motorbility could be an option.I hope I don't sound too brash by my suggestion...I only know I would myself have considered such an option if I had not made a recovery.
I wish you all the best and hopefully unrestricted movement in your near future.
