I’m contemplating putting in an order with Khurasan Miniatures in the USA from here in the U.K. Has anyone ordered from them? Any problems?
The reasonI’m thinking of ordering from them is that I’m looking for a Tang Chinese Army. For me Essex don’t cut it. Outpost are OK but Khurasan seem to have up with what I’m looking for. Any other thoughts for the Tang?

I received a consignment of Huns with no problem. And very nice they were too. But some others have had problems getting packages through customs. I think the fact that the packages are small but heavy seems to attract attention, and I can only assume the customs people don't know what they are or what to do with them. This seems to lead to delays or surcharges, randomly applied. I really like the Khurasan figures, but consequently don't order them . Scott

I always order in small batches (usually below the $28 level for their lowest postage rate). Not had a problem with customs yet but a few years back one parcel was stuck in the New York post office for more than a month before it crossed the Atlantic. (In contrast, orders I was making in the first few months of 2018 were with me in just over a week).

I’ll try a small order of less than $28 to see if I hit any problems.

I have a Tang army from Khurasan as well as at least half a dozen other Khurasan armies. I've been very happy with the figures. Well cast, easy to paint. Their service within the States is all I can comment on but its always been very reliable.

If there was a UK distributor, I would probably make armies from all of their lines, I really do think they are that good. Scott

I really rate some of their ranges. Top notch for historical accuracy and they carry some slightly unusual ranges that are hard to find elsewhere without going to Essex which can be a bit anodyne and generic.

I have ordered several armies from Khurusan and whilst the delivery time can vary, I have never had any issues with the figures. His Sung and Jurchen Jin are excellent and I have some of his Tang to round out my Outpost army and they look great. My Khurusan wishlist also includes enough of his West Sudanese to do a West Sudanese army and a new Christian Nubian, plus enough Jin to make up the b list to go with the a list already boxed in the Lead Mines of Mt Neverpaint. After that we drift into the fantasy buying plans that involve near unlimited funds and a similar allocation of time to paint It is also worth giving Essex another look as they have completely redone the Tang Range so that it no longer owes anything to Greer's "Armies and Enemies of Ancient China" and is more in keeping with the more (relatively)recent Montvert and Osprey publications on the subject. Cheers

How do they compare with other ranges size-wise? Comparable with Essex, height- and bulk- wise, but with more fine detail and better animated poses. Think Baueda or Corvus Belli. They would even mix on the same element stands with all three, although I am not sure there are many overlapping armies. Having said that, I have the Essex new range Tang, and they are also very good. Scott
