Actually, I will put in a vote for Magister, Essex, and Outpost. Frankly, while based on the older references the TTG LR line currently at Alternatve Armies are good old school 15s and I am quite happy with them (10 percent off this week...).
Have some of each and feel that they are good solid figures. Outpost has a bit of the creep, but still decent execution.
I also have OG15 and they are actually what I have for LR (along with some TTG) and am currently working on for MR.
Corvus, as noted, is still being revived and would be hard to build into an army at this time.

I would put in a vote for Irregular. I have 20mm DBA Early Imperial Army. Allies can easily be made up from other figure ranges.

This upcoming kickstarter for plastic 15mm Romans looks interesting. There's no info on when it's happening or prices yet but you can sign up for email updates and the minis look nice - www.grenzergames.co.uk/at_lances_point

The plastic Romans look wonderful but as I understand it they have found some problems in replicating the level of detail for production runs - let's hope they find a way around these because inexpensive 15mm plastic miniatures would be a great development.

I think you might come unstuck with some Roman armies depending upon the quantity you have to by, sometimes you might need only a small number of a figure, or even one model if a bolt shooter.

Chariot castings tend to be slim Jims. I think you'd be best to order the supports from Mag Mil as well. On the plus side, they sell by the base; so if you only need one element of Ps, you don't have to shell out for a pack of 8 figures. But the main bonus is that you can use their Numidians, which are beautiful castings, for your LH.

Salutations, again,
I'ts not that I have anythng against the people of Magister Militum - the 'frowny' was not intentional - but wondring if any other lines on small end of 'scale creep', I was.
Thanks for your info!

Hi. I’m building actually a late republican Roman (II/49) using AB figures for the core units. I complete it with Xyston (Gallic cav, Numide, art,and proxy’s for German). I love the result. For the elephant I use a Carthage’s one with some archers in it.
