In 2.1 Phils encourages players to try using base widths as per DBA 3. Has anyone tried thkis? Any lessons/thoughts?

I have tried using 100 paces = 1 base width.
This does not work very well. Slow units are still pretty slow while fast units are absolutely absurdly fast. Especially Flyers are totally over the top.
My impression is, that the rules would need to be re-written with new movement ratios.

I've used BW movement in HOTT for years with no problems - strongly recommended. You should reduced Flyers to 10BW. Riders should be treated as Fast Cav (so to get 5BW MA they have to suffer "Fast" penalty).
Dragons that Flee from table should be allowed to return on a "6" result.
Using BW movement is fully covered in D3H2.
Again can't recommend this strongly enough - makes the game far more lively and fun a good feature in a fantasy game.

I concur with Tom. I have been using the equivalent of BW movement for +10 years and never had an issue.
Please be advised a larger board is advised.

We do use a 4X4 board for 25mm.
