They look great. I like the muted green-grey. Very good half-way solution between "classical" Tolkienesque orcs and GW style orcs.

I agree totally with your comment. I am currently painting a horde command (16 x 5Hd and 2 x Stone trolls, behemoths).
The original green will be bathed in Camo Shade and later highlighted with Nurgle Green. Aside from their smaller stature, their skin colour should offer a nice contrast to the bulk of the army. With a bit of luck these should be ready this weekend.

The first Goblin horde required less time to ‘redo’ than was anticipated, so I moved on to the second consisting of 16 x 5Hd and 2 x Pump Wagons (WWg). When completed I will post photos of both commands (6 & 7) to the blog.

Does anyone know where the vivid green for Orcs came from?
I bought a load second hand, but I'm in the process of giving them all a heavy wash of Khaki as that tones them down and makes them more like the skin tones seen in the LOTR films. It leaves them a bit darker than yours Timurlank, but I much prefer your repainted ones.
Using Tolkien as a basis though I'm not sure I would class any Orc as Kn.
My general impression is that there were lots of them but generally they weren't very good.
Using HOTT rules, Warg Riders I'd probably class as Riders Wargs as beasts Most Orcs would be Warband or shooters Goblins Hd or shooters Maybe the fighting Uruk Hai as Blades Trolls etc as Behemoths
How do others classify them?
Though I presume there will be other alternative histories and rule sets people use.

Sheffmark, From what I read, the vivid green came about by accident during the early development of the Warhammer Fantasy rules.
During the play test period, the painters selected a green different than was originally proposed. The developers were quite happy with the choice and it has since then stuck.
The mounted Orc (3Kn) were listed the DBF ‘Here There Be Dragons’ rule set which evolved from DBM. Having played Warhammer Fantasy, I made a few mounted to pattern Orc Boar riders; impetuous savage type Orcs. The smaller figures representing the Goblin horde will be posted later today.

I am texturing the bases for commands 8 and 9 today and photos should be posted on Tuesday. Both are loosely patterned on the Classical Indian and so have the equivalent of ‘elephant’, chariots and archers. I have also set aside elements for command 10 for painting early next week.
This leaves the artillery, Squiggs, some extra horde and chariots to do and the project is complete.

I like the pump wagons. Always on the look out in bring and buys for stuff like that.

I like the pump wagons. Always on the look out in bring and buys for stuff like that. That pump wagon model was later replaced by another version which featured large iron wheels. It was unfortunate as the newer version could not fit a 40mm x 40mm base and ended giving that one to a club member.

Must say that I had wondered if the green goblin complexion was the result of the Spiderman comic villain.
Still a bit green for my tastes timurilank, but look good nonetheless.
Cranking thru the project at an impressive rate as well.

Goragrad, I had no illusion that the choice of Orc and Goblin skin colour would please everyone, but as Paddy649 remarked, they look far more menacing than before and that was primarily my goal.
At the moment, my head is swimming as I just finished command number 10. Photos of all three commands will be posted tomorrow before lunch.
I shall be leaving tomorrow evening to Belgium for a few days of R&R (rest and relaxation) and will begin painting the final command on Friday.

.....so that is 10 commands - each of which is effectively a DBA Armies. That is a very good painting rate even if you are ‘only’ repainting the skins. Well done that man.

Not quite Paddy649. In addition to new skin I have repainted their weapons, armour and clothing items; eyes and shadow were also added to each figure. The figures were not removed from their bases which did help speed the project.
I must honestly state this is a project you would only want to do once in your lifetime.

.....but you are really getting on with it - most impressive!
Whenever I repaint I tend to mix my in new figures - so I have to lift them from original bases as well.
