Tis tempting - I need a few figures to fill a couple of holes - they have three figures that should work for White Hoods and I have some one offs that could use some mates to enable me to make element using them.

Thanks Goragrad - our thinking is aligned.
Iβm using ME1 FLEMISH HI SPEARMAN for the Guildsmen. You too?

I have 6 elements of them in the queue - one of the holes to fill is bringing that up to 16. That will give two armies with the max PK if I choose that option.
I have 5 elements of the Minifig Flemish spear (jist a bit bigger and not quite as cute...) and those three elements of the ME-2 that I think I will use for the third army if I use them in BBDBA. Unfortunately the shields were already painted in generic Medieval patterns when I got 4 elements of them off ebay, but for BBDBA I won't sweat it too much and they will work as mercenary PK for the French and Germans.

Well, so much for the free shipping offer.
Just as I was confirming my order the shipping was reset a half hour early...
Better luck next time I guess.
P.S. My opinion of Alternative's customer service is slipping a bit.

If you e.mail Gavin , the owner, and tell him what happened, heβd probably help out. Always helpful in the past.......

Actually, Gavin noted a while back that he was tired of getting emails about errors in shipments. It is nice to get the odd extra figures with in an order, but when over the course of three orders I kept getting Berber light cavalry instead of Bedouin lancers, I let Gavin know. I could live with the policy of putting missing figures in with a later order, but consistently getting the wrong figure and then to have umbrage taken when informed of it is a bit odd. I had thought I was keeping the tone light, but apparently not.
At any rate as the situation came up this morning, rather than pay shipping and ask for a refund, I did email Gavin (took a few minutes to double check the offer ending time and the time difference so just before 9 GMT).
The reply was as I noted - Better luck next time.
So, as it stands, if there is a sale in the future I'll pick up the figures I need then.
In the interim, the fellows at Battleline sent me some sample figures and some TTG Indian chariot horses (the only current producer of them) and wheels gratis after I had sent a request for some pictured be of figures not pictured on their site and also asked what the cost of just the horses and wheels would be if I placed an order. It cost them 14NZD. I have been planning an order in consequence and as their foot are similar in price will likely get that part of this order from them.
P.S. I will concede that one of the exchanges with Gavin was me whining about misremembering the time differential and missing the deadline on a sale. On that occasion Gavin threw in figures to make up the difference. He definitely went beyond in that instance.
So much for a quick reply...

I got my order in on time..... but when I reviewed it it would have qualified for free postage anyway. So just to be difficult I removed several items that to be honest were nice to haves, just so I got the free postage. Is that weird?

Well, aster re-reading Gavin's response, it appeared that he thought I had just attempted to order at the last minute. So I emailed him that I was actually trying to complete my order when the offer ended prematurely. At that he replied that if I completed the order he would manually refund postage. So I did. Haven't checked paypal yet, but presume things will proceed.
