Any good suggestions for 15mm miniatures for early 11th century Bulgarian infantry - spears and archers?
Thanks

By early 11th are you looking at the III/14c list or the III/32 Vulgar list?
For the former I'd look at the Alternative Armies Byzantine Slav Spearman. Unfortunately they don't have a specific Slav archer.
Essex has both, although the HSA-8 Spearmen are iffy as SP in my view.
Outpost has Slav archers, but not a real spearman.
OG15s are pretty generic.
As to the Volga bunch, I haven't looked at them yet.
Nor the Book IV Later Bulgars.

Thanks - am looking at III/14c. Also need some Kn with the 2-handed lance. Am considering using some Sarmatians for them.

Alternative has those as well. Not keen on the figures with the lance leveled - project much too far (as with then rest of their figures with lances in that pose). Some of the figures I picked up second hand actually had the lances clipped...
I picked up 20 of their SC-11 with the upright lance for just that reason.
If you went with the Sarmation cav, you could also look at the foot bow - pretty basic archer in tunic and trews.

whatmade you think about Bulgarians? I been thinking about then since I moved here I was just surfing the lists looking for some opponents for Byzantines and I thought they looked an interesting mix of Kn, LH and Sp. Also some blue/red/whiute striped trousers could look snazzy!! Simon

Thanks. I noticed them and I have asked them to send me photos of the figures as they are not on the website. Regards Simon
