We have just started a DBA campaign based heavily on "Empire", a board game by Phil Sabin. Starting in 320BC our campaign will cover the wars of Alexander's Successors and the Punic Wars. I have posted an initial outline and I will post updates as we progress. The first battles are being arranged as some of the states look to expand. You can see the initial post here: ancientwargaming.wordpress.com/2016/07/21/empirecampaign/

The first two battles of the campaign have been fought and a brief description placed on my blog of each. I didn't see one battle so there are no photos of it. The other battle, where I commanded the Armenians, most photos where of poor quality so haven't been posted. ancientwargaming.wordpress.com/2016/07/27/empire-320-to-317-bc/

On Sunday another battle from our campaign was fought, this time as a result of Antigonus invading Aegyptus. Ptolemy put up a desperate defence using every trick in the book in a battle that hung in the balance for some time. A full report should be available in a few days but for now I can provide one photo...
The Carthaginian invasion of Sicily and the Macedonian invasion of Thracia have also resulted in battles which are also due to be resolved.

Keith, I look forward to reading the report so I can unravel the ownership of the pike units. Presumably, Ptolomey also fielded the “silver” shields.

Most figures illustrated are Antigonid troops, the exception is the left pike block which is Ptolemaic. It was a very confusing battle!

Good report and photos.
The frequency which my Seleucid general is carried off the field I am thinking to add an ambulance corps.

I liked the reports, especially Eumenes against the Armenians as my own will soon be matched against the Seleucid.
The four mounted hoplites for the colonist are an interesting force to deal with.
Lysimachus getting tangled among the tent pegs and ropes was not a good move after all.

Yes, Lysimachus failure to sack the Macedonian camp was a surprise. I was confident of victory until I rolled a one!
We now have the next five games, from the 310 - 301 BC campaign turn, determined and due for resolution in the next couple of weeks. They should be interesting. Unfortunately I won't see all the games as they are resolved by players when they can arrange games.

Two battles from the campaign were resolved last night, in different parts of Christchurch.
I watched the clash between Syracuse and the Siciliot Greeks at the local wargames club. The Siciliots had recently revolted from Syracusian domination of the island.
In another part of Chrstchurch Eumenes offensive into India resulted in a desperate battle.
A more complete report of the battles will be posted after all the various battles are resolved in the coming week or two.

The 290 BC to 281 BC turn of Empire gets underway with desperate battles in Italia and Cisalpina between the Gauls and Rome. Below, the Romans face Gauls in Italia, fighting for the survival of Rome! Carthage meanwhile invades Gallia from her Iberian territories. Next we move east, and determine the battles in Greece and beyond...
