So late in the past week I finally finished 'Warfare, State and Society in the Byzantine World, 565-1204AD'
I'd found it hard going - but pushed on thorugh.
After that I picked up another of the Routledge Warfare and History series "The Korean War: No Victors, No Vanquished" by Stanley Saddler
A much easier read and quite informative.
Cheers

It took me a while, but last week I finished "Mughal Warfare". Informative but hard goiong.
Over the weekend I read "Scottish Battles" by John Sadler - a concise narrative of Socts Military History from the Roman Era to the early 19th Century. Sadler gives details and commentary on a number of battles (with a certain Scots bias), including a few victories that don't usually appear in the standard histories. I quite enjoyed this one.
For a change of pace I then went on to start "Star Destroyers: Big Ships Blowing Things Up" a series of Science Fiction short stories focussing on battleships.
Cheers
