Well, I've got my first army ready for play, with plans to acquire and paint my way to at least a few more.
I usually game with the Metropolitan Wargammers in Brooklyn, where we have a group of 3-4 people who've expressed interest in playing DBA over the next few months, but I'd be interested in finding others. I'm willing to commute a bit along rail lines, though nothing longer than a day trip, and preferably nothing that requires me to have a car.
I will be at Cold Wars in a couple weeks and I intend to be at Historicon (we'll have to see what my schedule does).

Salutations, Mr. Demko !
OK, am here in Newark. Have heard of the Metropolitan Wargamers, thot that oneovdezedaze I'd drop by. Am retired, have PATH and MTA 'senior discount' cards, so shouldn't be problem getting there. (ISTR Metropolitan Wargamers have a website, url is ?)
There's a pretty good group of historical miniature players, meet Thursday nights and some Saturdays at Maplewood Hobby - maplewoodhobby.com
Am not a fast painter, and have some projects promised to be ready for Cold Wars, but mayhaps my Middle Imperial Romans or Early Germans will see some competition soon.
Plan to be at Cold Wars and H'con, good Lawd willin and the creeks don't rise. Avatar picture not a bad likeness ;-)
Hope to hear from you in near future
Yours, John

Hi John!
Maplewood Hobby looks like a convenient target for me, at least for the occasional Saturday.
Metropolitan Wargamers does indeed have a website (http://www.nycwargames.com/directions/)
I'll keep an eye out for you at Cold Wars. I'm out of the country in April, but after that we should be able to meet up sometime.
I'm probably an even slower painter than you! My one and only army right now is a warring states Chinese army - I have figures for another army of the same period, but I may acquire and paint something with more historical opponents - not confident that I'd finish before Historicon, but it would be nice if I could show up with two armies for the festival of DBA that Tony and co. are trying to set up.
- Mike

Salutations, everyone !
Still here, still looking for friendly opponents.
(BTW, anyone who's interested in 'The French Disease', there's a tourny at Maplewood Hobby on Sunday, June 30)
