It’s true that both sides of the Indus River in the western Indian subcontinent is mostly flat, but the same cannot be said of eastern, central, or southern India. And Vietnam, Burmese-Myanmar, Khmer-Cambodia, Siamese-Thailand and Javanese-Indoesia are certainly not as flat as a pancake. Lastly, the south-western Yunnan region of China, that was inhabited by the Tien & K’un-Ming, is not as flat as the Netherlands! Personally, I think that page 6 paragraph 5 should read as:- If the region is: Compulsory: Optional features:TROPICAL 1-2 woods River, Marsh, 1 only Gully, BUA, Enclosures, Road, extra Woods, and Gentle Hills. Some potentially useful player aids can be found here, such as the “Quick Reference Sheets” from the Society of Ancients, and the new “Army List Corrections” file: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Reference_sheets_and_epitomes And this is the latest January 2018 FAQ: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ_2018

I expect the omission of hills was to prompt players to use other terrain options and refrain from habitually using same – same. There are only 28 lists with a Tropical homeland so if you want a gentle hill then have it form the foundation of a BUA (city or fort). Besides, rivers can be fun to use as well as a marsh and gully. dbagora.blogspot.nl/2017/09/dba-terrain-type-tropical.html

Hmmm, after reading Timurilank’s post and thinking about it a bit more, these so called ‘tropical’ regions are actually composed of two different geological areas. There are the low plains and river deltas, that are flat due to sediment from thousands of years of river flooding. And then there are the inland more hilly areas, away from the alluvial floodplains, where the sediment comes from. Therefore, I wish to amend my earlier proposal:- If the region is: Compulsory: Optional features:TROPICAL 1-2 woods River, 1 only Gully, BUA, Enclosures, Road, extra Woods, either Marshes or Gentle Hills. Monsoon eroded low hills for the highlands, or marshes for the alluvial floodplains, with lots of jungle-woods… ...I think that would be a better representation of Tropical. (Different from Forest, which can have both gentle hills and marshes, but no roads, enclosures, or a dry season gully)Some potentially useful player aids can be found here, such as the “Quick Reference Sheets” from the Society of Ancients, and the new “Army List Corrections” file: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Reference_sheets_and_epitomes And this is the latest January 2018 FAQ: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ_2018
