Now that the Law Army is finished, I have been working on the Stronghold. I like making my Strongholds in 6 MM when possible as that scale allows me more of an opportunity to do a little diorama. Here is an initial photo, and it is till very much a work in progress. Received the custom deals and have applied them tot he Law Garage/Police Station. Now working on the spot lights, barbed wire and a street light to go on the sidewalk in front of the building. Having to scratch build most of it as this is a 6 MM project. More to come shortly, Terry

Here is a progress update on the Law Stronghold. I am nearly finished and am closing in on doing so. A few more bits with the entrance barrier being the last thing to make yet. Funny thing, when I made the streetlight, which I copied from the one outside my house, I made it based on research I'd done regarding streetlights being typically between 20 and 25 feet tall. So I originally made it like 23 MM tall, or 23 feet tall. Got it all nice and painted, sprayed on the protective coats and went to mount and in testing the location first I got to thinking - that sure does look tall. So I went back and studied the one out front, and did more research on line about streetlights and voila! The style I was making usually runs 17 to 18 feet tall, or for my model 17-18 MM. The taller ones at the 20-25 foot height are the more modern looking L shaped streetlights. So, there was nothing for it but to hope I could shorten it and not have to make a new one. Of course I came to this realization at midnight so after several attempts I figured a way to loosen the base, using two pair of pliers and a small hammer!!!, which allowed me to shorten it, and repaint it. Oh yeah and it was by then approaching 2 AM! But I'd not have slept anyway knowing it was wrong!!! So here is where it is after some work done today, and again closing in on finishing it. More soon, Terry

It's finally done and I had some sun today so was able to take some pictures of the finished Law Stronghold. This was a really fun project, and one that kept growing as I was working it, i.e. I kept seeing things I could do to add to it. Plenty of very tiny bits, but I am thinking the stop sign on the gate was the toughest. Took 4 tries before I got one that I felt was acceptable. It's only 3 MM across and the decal is only 2 MM across! Took about 6 weeks to complete entire model. The model is 6 MM scale and sits on a 60 x 80 MM base. Again, the building is a modified Leven model, the police cruiser and semi trailer are modified Irregular models, the police officers are from Dark Star (they're supposed to be space guys - but with a different paint job made dandy police in riot gear), the Jersey walls and the two barrels are Perfect Six, the corrugated metal for the walls is cut from plastic sheeting, and the tires are wooden beads I got off EBay from Australia. The lamp post, spotlights in the back, and flood lights on the large front sign are hand made, and the barbed wire is very thin copper wire stripped from a short piece of electrical cord I got at the hardware store. The decals are all custom made from Miscellaneous Miniatures. The street is matt board from an art picture framing shop, and the sidewalk is bass wood sealed and sanded smooth. OK, now it's off to the next project! Terry

Very nice, and all the more impressive that it’s in 1/300 / 6mm scale, Terry.
