Sign me up, Paul.
Even a sprinkling of snow here on the south coast this afternoon - things must be bad!

Three people have just had to drop out. Anyone fancy stepping in to replace them on Saturday?

I hope those players who are also members of the Society of Ancients will be happy for the results of their games to be included in the SoA Championship. (If you can let me have your SoA membership number, that would be helpful.)

Feverishly swotting up the SCh rules and ready to go. The place I was supposed to stay in Newark turned out to have given my room to someone else. They found me somewhere nearby and gave me dinner which they wouldn't let me pay for. I think I've used up all my luck tonight!

That were grand, thanks to all who arrange and all who played. Great to meet chums and make new bitter enemies. Superb armies and terrain and loved the match ups and layouts.
Killing my own general on elephant with another of my elephants in a reverse fubar was a particularly masterful stroke Mark had to work hard to take me out before I did it myself.
Will stick up some pics tomorrow.

Thanks for throwing a 1 yourself!!! Cheers Simon

Thanks to everyone who made the trip to Newark for some excellent gaming today and my congratulations to Martin Myers on winning the Northern Cup for the second time (and doing it whilst not losing a single element in 6 games)! It was also great to see new supporters in Westwind Productions providing the prizes and, of course, for the Society of Ancients for their ongoing support for the tournament.
The results are as follows:
1 Martin Myers - 47pts 2 Phil Johnson - 43pts 3 Simon Wilson - 38pts 4 Mark Johnson - 33pts 5= Tom Whitehead - 32pts 5= Graham Fordham - 32pts 7= Scott Russell - 31pts 7= Paul Hodson - 31pts 9= Mark Skelton - 30pts 9= Colin O’Shea - 30pts 11 Denis Grey - 29pts 12 Tristan Gale - 28pts 13 Phil Steele - 26pts 14 Baldie - 25pts 15 Frank Shaw - 16pts 16 Tamara Fordham - 8pts
The two winners of the ‘best match-ups’ players’ vote was, in second, Board 5: Thessalian v Alex Mac (14 points) and, in first, Board 8: Khmer v Burmese (20 points), so they will go forward and feature in the ‘Best of 18-22' tournament in 2023 (assuming we make it that far, of course …)
Look forward to seeing you all next year and will let you know in due course the details.
