Hi all! I just purchased DBA 3.0. I have never played DBA, but I am a 15mm gamer using the Napolionics “Empire”rules, amongst others. My question seems so basic, but I am still struggling with the answer.
In Empire, a unit can sometimes be ten stands of four miniatures each. I’m now reading that a unit in DBA 3.0 is one stand, and that one stand may be only three figures?
I am surprised that an army can be so small. It feels wrong after years of painting and basing upwards of 300 napolionic figures.
Can somone post a photo of a legal army and show, by stand, the 12 elements?

Hi. As an intro to DBA, I think one of the best things you could do nis to watch one of Tony Aguilar's Youtube videos - eg www.youtube.com/watch?v=_udcTvaaoMAThis will show you some example armies and give you a very good feel for game flow. Cheers Simon

Three hundred figures are about what you would need for two big battle armies; that is three commands per side (36 elements). This is one of the options you will find on page 13 of the rule book. On page 14 you will find a useful guide for fighting historical re-fights.
This link will take you to the historical re-fight of Callinicum (531 AD) which we did in September of this year. dbagora.blogspot.nl/2017/09/battle-of-callinicum-531-ad-re-fight.html
