As usual we'll be running a HoTT competition at RECON (2nd Dec, Leeds) this year. £4.50 to enter, which includes entry to the show. First game at 10:00, we usually get 4 games through the day, and you do get a break to look round the show. Helpful if you can let me know you're coming, but feel free just to turn up.

How did everyone get on? It has made me decide to get an O&G force.

How did everyone get on? It has made me decide to get an O&G force. Hi Baldie, It was good to see you dropping in on the tournament. We had heard a rumour of royal visitors but were only expecting Prince Harry and his fiancee - we never imagined it would be you! Tim arranged and organised a very good day's gaming. There were six players and so in five games we all got to play each other and have time to look round the show. The venue was excellent and pie and peas for lunch at a very reasonable price. Technically I came first and so thanks for the very nice painted reptile army Tim. Morally, I think Mark Johnson really won. We went in to the last game on pretty much level pegs but with Mark set to win overall if he won his last game. For this game, he was drawn against my nephew who had only played his first game of HoTT the day before. Mark very decently took the time to give the young player some coaching and guidance and, as a result of this, the game was unfinished and so ended on a draw. Thanks again to Tim and the other players. Cheers Simon

Agree that it was good to see a couple of guys pop in from Barnsley and hope that you'll both be there next year in a playing capacity. Sorry we couldn't spend longer having a chat, but game time was tight.
Thanks again to Tim for organising.
All the games were good fun and very close. My only regret was that the game between Simon and myself was just getting interesting when time was called.
I have no regrets about helping out Simon's nephew, it wasn't that much, just pointing out little things like leaving a flank uncovered and explaining how 2 blades could bypass a marsh by moving into column rather than having one of them wade through it. Generally he played very well and deserved his draw.
I think Nick came second and me third.
Anyone (Simon) who brings an aquatic based army called 'Fish and Pips' deserves to go home with something!
