Go to carpet store and get 2 foot square piece of green indoor outdoor carpet, or green house carpet try fabric store and get two foot square of green felt In both cases use splashes of brown paint to give some variation go to art supply store and get 2 foot square of foam core board and paint as needed go to office supply store and get a tri fold display board, usually 36 by 48 inches and cut as needed. You might have to cut to size any material you get thanks a lot.

I use 10mm figures, based in two ranks on 40mm bases. I treat them just as if they were 15mms - I like the massed effect. me too! I like the massed effect. but in my case, I use 40mm x 30mm base on three ranks.

I had a large collection of 10mm armies. I have just sold some off to finance my 25mm English Civil War project oh, really? I think 10mm miniature was in my taste. but I know , globally, 15mm miniature or 25mm have been regulated at DBA rule.

In response to the Oh you play with toys soldiers commit, I say it's not really playing, it's thinking, it's just chess that is more complicated and much more colorful. Moreover if you think about it, considering all the things that go into the hobby, we spend more time getting ready to compete with with our toy soldiers then we do actually using them in a game. oh,yes, what you said is right.

I think there is still a bit of "Oh you play with toy soldiers do you?' from some people, but when you explain it's like chess only with more variable pieces and movement etc it can help. I also remember being at the Student Nationals one year where we had a demonstration from the female students who seemed to think we were glorifying war! However generally people are quite accepting as there are other worse hobbies! Cheers Mark thank you for your answer.
