I have a few Museum Miniature Classical Indian cavalry and LH figures, sent by mistake. Let me know if you're interested, I'll send them as soon as I can remember where I put them.

Also ordered some Z-Sculpts from Museum Miniatures. Arrived this past week. Been busy past few days, only checked to see everything ordered was in box. Mainly additions to the Morphable Dark Ages Mob, ready to fight anytime from the fall of Rome to the 1st Crusade. And some Thracians. Been spending most of January and Feb hibernating. Only 22 days huntil the Equinox. Gotta finish a few stands, hold a mass flocking with air purifier on, and shoot some pics.

Am an old bachelor and live by myself. Have no one to blame. But good warm wool socks - if you're playing in garden shed or unheated basement, can give a +1 for morale checks.

With all this discussion about presentation of rule sets I thought this was interesting: youtu.be/b3F7EOgtDbM?si=vVJdMSnBiOfx4RzNI have no connection at all with this team but coming from the US I thought that it gives a broad perspective. Also with a Warhammer background I was expecting the authors to be a bit biased. However, I was pleasantly surprised that: DBA - the oldest set of rules being reviewed was viewed very positively. There were no negative comments about the writing of DBA. Substance was preferred to style - it wasn’t all about presentation! The more “boutique” games were called out for what they are. ADLG was trashed as being only good for competitions. However, I note that Triumph was lumped in with the DBA rulesets. What does anyone else make of this? Anyone tried the other two recommended rulesets: Age of Hannibal and To the Strongest? Age of Hannibal is from Greg Wagman of Little Wars TV. You can see them in use in their Pyrrhic Wars campaign linkThey are based on Chipco's Fantasy Rules!, which borrowed and adapted some DBx ideas. Cheers Jim
Have had it on my wishlist for a while, should put my money down ...

Would add: Print the rules in readable type - at least 12-point. No 79-word sentences. Short paragraphs. Clear grammar (maybe teach ye English about sentence diagramming ?) OK, my 3 cents worth (inflation). Happy Halloween, and see you at Fall In ! That part we are already doing. TomT Great ! Trust you to pull this off. Saving my pennies for its release.

Salutations !
Thinking about paddy649's post: I sometime think that Games Workshop's _real_ market are the parents, grandparents, maiden aunts of 'young-adolescent males', whom GW has convinced that their tweener boys now have a safe place to hang out with other boys (and spend their allowances and birthday gifts) ...
In other words, maybe GW's real competition is the Boy Scouts ...

Salutations, gentlefolk !
Heading to Fall In this coming weekend. Not planning major purchases, just to fill out elements - some Essex Lombard knights, some Viking Forge Anglo-Dane spearmen.
Suggestions sought; if enlarging a 15mm Camillan / Polybian Roman army, what figures would work well with Outpost's ?
And will be roaming the dealer's room and flea market - I can resist anything except temptation ;-)
Say 'Hello' if you see me there (more beard now than in picture)

Agree with Simon on desirability of stripped-down version - one that you can bring to the game for checking ill-remembered technicalities during play without collapsing the table - the electronic version of ALDG v3 was great.
Games Workshop gets studied in business schools as example of vertical integration - they run the stores, make the figures, write the rules and the novels with the backstories and the 'mythos', organize the tournaments and conventions, and put $$$ and effort into giving their hobby a 'classy' presentation. I've never bought anything from them, but if you're one of those who 'pay to play', it's almost like joining a club.

Plan to be at Fall In, good Lawd willin' and the Delaware don't rise. May be up for a tournament, depending on schedule, or an informal game or two...

Salutation, Xenophon, and welcome !
As I've said before; "It's all a matter of big knives, sharp sticks, monstrous beasties, infernal machines, slings, arrows, and outrageous fortune."
There are purists who disdain anything but historical matchups, but you cut potential matchups and games down that way - and maybe get bored before the next army gets painted.
Mayhaps you can drop a note in the 'Opponents Wanted' section, see if other DBA'rs in your area.
Good luck and good gaming !

And, I should ask for your geographic location, too (checked '7 pillars ...', Larry, will keep up with reading it in future.)

Salutations, gentlepeople !
Helping out a friend's research project here. So, may I ask:
1: Do you live where hard-boiled eggs pickled in beet juice are part of the 'folk cuisine' (ie, you can get them at local supermarket) ?
2: I can get them, but would take unusual shopping ?
3: I know they exist, but getting some ?
4: What the heck are you talking about, John ?
Thanks, very much, for whatever help you can give me with this.
