Going back to my 20mm WW2 skirmish rules for 2023. I haven't done this in about 20 years and the rules I used to use are now OOP - The Face of Battle. TBH more interested in painting/building than playing, however. Your tanks look great! Have you considered What a Tanker! from Too Fat Lardies to take them for a spin? Jim Nope way to basic. I like an absurd amount of detail when it comes to WW2.

Being able to go into combat without having corner to corner contact. This has been a pet peeve of mine since day one 18 years ago. The next set of rules I play will definitely have this. Thinking like that will lead you to games like impetus where you contact at any angle and no lining up. That is just not symmetrical and opens the rift to the chaos worlds Everyone says it can't be solved. I bet it can with the right people writing the rules. Tired of games that are weirdly geometrical and don't leave you feeling like a real commanders experienced.

I had no plans on getting any until I saw they were on sale AND there was free shipping on two I was interested in. Free shipping is a biggie as it is more than the cost of the mats. You bloody enabler. Love to help out a fellow whisky drinker 🥃 P AYE!

Some of you may be interested in the fact that Tiny Wargames are having a 20% off sale on their gaming mats at the moment - www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TinywargamesUKBeautiful mats and we’ll worth the investment, particularly the rubber backed ones. p I had no plans on getting any until I saw they were on sale AND there was free shipping on two I was interested in. Sorry if this question hast been discussed elsewhere - at least I couldn't find it.
The FAQ have this to say (amongst many other things):
Q: My opponent had a group of three Auxilia in a line. During my turn I moved a Spear into the flank of the group. The flanked Ax turned to face. During close combat I doubled and therefore destroyed it. The next Ax in the group is exactly one BW away from my victorious Spear. Is it in the threat zone of my Spear? A: Yes. The threat zone generated by your Spear is one BW directly ahead of the front edge. Any element inside or touching the front edge of this area is affected by it. Please note that elements just touching the sides of the threat zone are not affected.
I don't get it. Although I understand the words they seem to clearly contradict the rules as written. The Threat Zone rules say "An element...whose front edge enters an enemy TZ or touches its far edge....". In the above situation only the side edge touches the far edge of the threat zone so that element should not be restricted by the treat zone.
Where is my mistake?
Oh, boy! Because the "touches its far edge" refers to the whole enemy ELEMENT and any part of it, not just the FRONT EDGE of it. I brought this up to the FAQ Group for clarification because of questions like this keep coming up from less experienced players (on here and on Facebook) that are not aware of how past games have been played at all conventions. The play testers have assured me that is not what the author intended and added it to the FAQ at my behest. (Not to mention it would be extremely weird and fiddly.)

You must have really hated them in 2.2 where they were only a +2 vs. mounted. But at least they didn’t move at a snail’s pace in BGoing… P Well, there is that. However I MUCH prefer Solid Aux to Warband.

argh, Tony! it was not only because your videos around dba 3.0, but also we had more and less the feeling to be with you and your friends around the DBA table, also, it is so nice to have the possibility to look dba game during work! so please, i know that +it is difficult to set up the sound with lot of friends talking in the same time, but i prefer that that no video at all! btw other video around dba or around other games or painting minis are great too! There definitely will be more videos etc. (I'm not quitting wargaming!) just not anymore for this rule set. With that said there will still be more painting of 15mm ancient/medieval (even with DBA 3.0 lists.)

I guess you haven't been watching my videos as of late where it has come up. Tony, I'm watching some of your older videos where you explain the rules (you're not the only one who can get confused!)
Have you thought of making a video of yourself and Mitch going through the areas of the rules where you find inconsistencies or confusion?
Nope, DBA 3.0 videos are a thing of the past and not my responsibility to clear stuff up. I have done plenty (200+ videos) and achieved burn out on trying to get everyone to understand. I appreciate your support but this "you have done lots, but please do even more" has gotten old. This is especially true since there is no way to solve many of these issues and they will always creep up. It is a bit of like banging your head into a wall. I have fond memories of DBA 3.0 and have no hard feelings, but it is time to put my efforts into something I can control, solve and more forward with. Please enjoy those DBA 3.0 videos I have done as I will keep on my site indefinitely.

Thanks This is one of the armies I did a video review on: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NfO9LKReHgCheck around 12:00 for the Song Fire Lancers including closeup pictures.
