Great looking game and report. found the interspersing of Wb and Ps among the pike groups interesting. Were they facing an enemy other than pike? My opponent was using the Antigonids with Galatians. I understand he used them against Indians recently.

I asked out of curiosity as my Seleucid army will arrive this coming week. I have an image of my Galatians serving on the flank alongside the elephant corps, however, that may change if the Romans select the Pergamene as allies. .

Sorry, I understand your question now.
In this game generally the Wb were facing pike. One group of Wb manoeuvred out of the way of an elephant towards pike. Another group, faced with a break through by an elephant was thrown in as a single element. From my recollection the Wb broke two of my Pk late in the game.

I suffered a major thrashing the other night when my Antogonid Successor was taken apart by my opponents Early Seleucids in a standard DBA game. My poor deployment meant I was badly placed to counter his mounted attack against my right wing by Seleucid Xystophoroi, cavalry, light horse and scythed chariots.
The game was a warm up for my opponent as he will be using his Seleucids in a campaign we have started.

Those wake up calls can be annoying at times.

My Carthaginians have recently had a run of success, however this evening they suffered two defeats in short order. Firstly they collapsed against Athenians. Hoping this was a one off, they reformed and marched out to fight Camillian Romans. While the game was at least closer the defeat was still complete.

Cool pictures! Those Tin Soldier figures are really neat - so much that I bought more at Historicon!

Tin Soldier have a certain characteristic but I think with a reasonable paint job and basing they come up well. I rather like your own Ptolemaic figures. Perhaps we will see some updates to your blog in coming months. The most recent photos is of my Corvus Belli Carthaginians engaged against my opponents Xyston Athenians.

I will update my blog as soon as I do some painting - I haven't in some time. I have been setting up my painting room in my new office over the last week, so hopefully I can get some in. I'm definitely pumped up right now after Historicon. I've given up on posting pics of all the convention games I attend as it was way too time consuming.

Today three excellent games of DBA while visiting Auckland all going down to the wire.
The first two games found Polybian Romans locked in combat with Later Carthaginians. The last game, and that photographed, should have been a Carthaginian victory except finally the Carthaginian centre collapsed before the attacks against Roman right could be exploited.
In the third game Cortez took the field against the Aztecs. These two armies are challenging historical opponents due to the unusual troop types in both armies. Fortunately Cortez broke through in the centre cutting a path towards the Aztec commander.

Are the elephants outside the camera lens or did you take the Numidian LH option?
Now that the Seleucid are done I will be testing them and the Carthaginian armies against the consular army this week.

Great weekend of games. What an inopportune moment for the pike to support Lysimachus. The Muses were at their best.
