Between projects I had time to correct the problem with hills. The large number of historical games I found the unpacking and storing the larger hill pieces a bother that I began looking for an alternative. I have posted to the blog what hopefully may be my ultimate solution. dbagora.blogspot.nl/2017/04/difficult-hills.html

Your newly designed hills look as if they will be more practical in game-conditions, e.g. Psiloi won't be somersaulting down edges of hills.
Creating for more, slightly smaller, Area Features is something I need to do as well. The Plowed Fields I typically use aren't quite max-size at almost 4BW x 4BW, but still big enough that they often squeeze out other Area Features. Great, if one wants minimal RG/BG (and it doesn't rain); not so good if you're running Pergamenes against Kappadokains!
Keep us posted on your new terrain kit.

Psiloi are making aggressive use of difficult hills with their double move potential and that was one reason I looked for an alternative solution.
I also use small structures, a cottage, building or shed (1BW x 3BW) which can extend the area of plough without the need for constructing a complete field (as seen here). For colour variation I bought the Rapeseed field (canola) from HEKI. It is light green which will blend nicely with the European items. Soon I will have 'arable' features for both Western Europe and the arid climes of Mesopotamia.

There is a real balance between good aesthetics and practicality. I think your new hills strike a great balance Robert.

Thank you for the kind word.
I felt inspired as this past week has been filled with a variety of terrain projects; enclosures, new wood and sea mat.
