A quick reminder that I am able to accommodate a couple more people at the Bakewell DBA Tournament on Saturday 18 June. We have around 16 people coming at the moment. and it should be giood fun. The theme is Bakewell TARTers and tARTillery - ie legal armies from any period but must have at least 4 elements that are LH and/or Artillery.
Regards

With two weeks to go, here is the latest update. Firstly, I am delighted to be able to say that all round good guy John Roberts, from Naismith and Roundway ( naismithandroundway.co.uk ) has kindly offered to support the event by donating an unpainted DBA army as first prize and some assorted figures for other prizes. You may be aware that John has recently set up his business after acquiring the ranges from Navwar. The 15mm DBA army will be Medieval German IV/13d – so you will have plenty of time to paint all those lovely landsknechts in preparation for Mercian 2017! Secondly, the latest list of contestants (18 in all!) is: Pete Duckworth, Paul Murgatroyd, Simon Wilson, Denis Grey, Sean Pratt, Richard Pulley, Phil Johnson, Tom Whitehead, Graham Fordham, Tamara Fordham, Scott Russell, Frank Shaw, Pete Whyman, Martin Myers, John Saunders, Arnaud Marmier, Neil Mason, Philip Donald. I have e-mailed all those coming with some final details so please let me know via this forum if you did't get that e-mail. Regards, Simon

Final call!
Looks like we will be having a good turnout of 16-18 players on Saturday 18 June - but there is still room for a couple of latecomers if anyone is available - just let me know!
Cheers

I am pleased to say that the Bakewell Tournament was well attended with 14 participants. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and prizes were kindly donated by John Roberts of Naismith and Roundway Miniatures at www.naismithandroundway.co.uk First prize was a Late German army that would be most eligible for Pete Duckworth's Mercian Tournament next year, themed on the Italian Wars I have been busy on my calculator and the full list of results is as follows: Ranking Name Army Points Sum Opponents Scores 1 Arnaud Marmier Ming (Korean Yi Dynasty ally) 86 266 2 Pete Duckworth Lithuanian 80 226 3 Martin Myers Khitan-Liao 60 286 4 Neil Mason Bosporan 60 249 5 Graham Fordham Lithuanian (Teutonic ally) 60 243 6 Tom Whitehead Pecheneg 60 229 7 Philip Donald Komnenan Byzantine 43 309 8 Richard Pulley Lithuanian (Hussite ally) 43 252 9 David Constable Ottoman 40 280 10 Scott Russell Ming Chines 40 200 11 Paul Murgatroyd Sassanid Persian 40 186 12 Phil Johnson Maurikian Byzantine 23 223 13 Tamara Fordham Georgian 20 223 14 Pete Whyman Mongol Conquest 20 183 The scoring system was 20 pts win, 6 pts winning draw, 3 pts other draw, 0 pts loss with sum of opponents scores being used to rank ties. Armies had to have at least 4 LH and/or Artillery and the games were played on large boards. Photos to follow. Simon
