I am pleased to announce that the theme for the 2017 Good, Bad and Ugly Tournament is ALIEN INVASION! (cue the scary space music) Alien is defined as NOT OF THIS WORLD, but the invasions may be at any time period, or may even be an Earth invasion of another world, or an alien invasion of another world. Some suggestion sources for creating armies might be High Crusade, War of the Worlds, Aliens vs. Cowboys, Dune, John Carter of Mars, Harry Turtledove’s World War series, Screamers, Star Trek, Star wars, or you can create your own army. Remember, you can do either aliens or earthlings. There are ten Legs planned at this time, and the various Legs will be played in the fall time frame. Mid West – Coordinator Bob Beattie North Yorkshire – Coordinator Bob Carter Staines – Coordinator Tim Moore Atlanta – Coordinator Tom Thomas Shetlands – Coordinator Mike McEwan Glasgow – Coordinator Euan Caldwell Texas Republic – Coordinator Blake Radetzky Tornado Alley – Coordinator John Hoovey Sydney – Coordinator Victor Jarmusz Nashville – Coordinator Terry Webb Interested players are welcome to join in any of the established Legs or are encouraged to start a Leg of their own. This is an international tournament with the sole purpose of having fun and bringing like minded gamers together over a common theme. More to follow, Terry

Thank you for that advance information. I haven't planned my annual trip to the UK yet. I have a feeling that it might be possible for me to get to Staines from where I would be staying.

Thank you Terry. I have replied. I have a choice of 3 possible armies that I could take that might fit the theme.

Martin, To the best of my knowledge it's always been held on a Sunday at Staines. Try a night out at a posh restaurant, with a couple of bottles of wine. This should help your negotiations along

Nice idea, but it's not 'herself' who needs convincing, but a somewhat faceless corporate rostering department, who know no pity when it comes to handing out the work. Makes the Marquis de Sade look like a nice guy.....we shall see. Ya never know..... M

Pete J., Organiser of the Staines leg, 3rd Sept., just posted on the Yahoo group:-
"Gents. The problem is that so far we have just 4 people (including me) saying yes for 3rd September. If we can't get at least another 4 we will have to defer to a later date.
This would be a pity because in order to avoid the big shows it would have to be 8th October or 5th November and we were trying to do it while the weather is a bit warmer. 5th November is closer to our 'traditional' date so maybe that's the way to go. There will be a firm decision by this Sunday coming. Thanks,
Pete "
Can anyone planning to go pls post on the Yahoo group, or here and I'll try to cross-post your reply ??

I have the following dates for the some of he Legs for this year’s Good, Bad and Ugly International HOTT Tournament.
Staines 9/3
The Shetlands 9/17
Nashville 10/21
North Yorkshire 10/29
Glasgow 11/7
I will advise the dates for the remaining three Legs as I receive them. They are The Republic of Texas (San Antonio), Tornado Alley (Dallas), Atlanta
It is not too late to plan on joining in, and if interested I can help get you I touch with a Leg Coordinator for the event you are interested in.
Again, in addition to the local prizes, there will be the yearly Barker Award for the best over all theme army and the new Stronghold Award for the best Stronghold over all. The theme this year is Alien Invasion (Not of this World) but a theme army is not required to join in, and most legs are able to supply loaner armies if needed.
