On Day 1 lists must be from Books 1 and 2 On Day 2 lists must be from Books 3 and 4
Each day is limited to 40 players - you can enter for either one day or for both but the championship is awarded to the best player over 2 days

After that you must email your army list(s) to the tournament director (Peter Braham above) by 20 January 2017
Advise him of the 12 elements to be used and the army date range (for aggression purposes)

Yep looks like a few comps are complaining about not getting enough players. I think Cancon is getting a bit to big, and needs to find a larger venue or cut out the non Wargamming stuff to make more space.

Just had the same experience as thehillcrusher. Obviously shouldn't have waited for my credit card to clear a bit of debt!
I can't believe that 40 (or should that be 20?) DBA 3.0 spaces have been filled for Saturday. Perhaps the generous (some would say very optimistic) field sizes for all tournaments have added to the problem?
Ironically, I have my Book III/IV army ready to go - Tibetans III/15. Still painting the Sea Peoples (I/28) for Friday - if I can get in!
As for CanCon becoming too big and needing another venue - there are plenty of other pavilions out at EPIC, just move into one of them!

Seems ridiculous that registrations are closed off more than a month before CANCON opens its doors!

I have looked at some other forums and it appears that somehow Cancon as a whole is oversubscribed for the Saturday. They simply have no more space for anyone.

Heya, I'm going to be there, registered some time ago as I was warned of impending Doom. There does seem to be some problems in the ticketing. . I remember the old, less troublesome days when you didn't have to register 6 months ahead of schedule (or when the organiser would come around in the first round and get your $10 off you).
I know there have been some technical problems, probably caused by the belief that you can organise people by will (or won't) alone.
'Thehillcrusher', 'Spitzicles' Can you get in touch with the organiser without registering. If you can at least get your details to him, we have a chance of a viable competition. As far as I know there are less than 15 (less on saturday) that have made it through the minefield of registration. I encourage you and anyone you know who wants to register to send your info. The organiser actually has no control of the ticketing or registration... but he 'Peter B' is closer to the powers that be (so it might help).
I would have thought we'd get at least 20 people. And I will be really disappointed if this stuffs up anyone enjoyment of Cancon (more than it already has). It used to be about the games.
Cheers, Alex.

righteousaussiegamer,
I am one step ahead of you, already contacted Peter B and advised him that my son and I were very keen to play on both days. Peter responded that he would pass my concerns onto the organisers.
Next time you are warned of "impending Doom" can you please share it at Fanaticus? That way we could make sure DBA has the numbers.
As it is, I suspect the online ticketing crowd have been told that EPIC has X capacity, but with so many tournaments being run X capacity has been reached pretty quickly, so no more ticket sales. Which means that while EPIC and the fire and safety people are happy with X capacity, there are going to be a number of tournaments with pretty small numbers.
As I wrote earlier, just hire another pavilion, clearly there is enough demand.

I too have emailed Peter, but as I need to book accommodation, hopefully we get an answer sooner than latter from the powers that be....
