...looks great in this size, with rivaling Germanic tribes... I enjoy using the single command with 24 elements. Play is marginally longer, perhaps needing a few extra turns. Civil wars plagued most armies making a second command useful. The next double-size project is an Armenian Army, II/28c. I have plenty of extra figures in the collection, but lack javelinmen. These should arrive soon.

...until now i did often use BBDBA with 3 commands. But you need an opponent for larger battles... ...now with Triumph it is OK. The armies are a bit larger. But in Switzerland you have problems with larger armies anyvay. And the proportions for a larger Triumph-game is a bit odd. You need 2 x the width. That meens: 90 MU wide x 36 MU deep; that meens; 64cm deep for 15mm miniatures.,..

Standard game board here is 80cm x 80cm equalling table size. Increasing the width 50% is ample size for the larger command.
The maximum number of terrain pieces placed is increased by one.

...years ago I got a 120x80cm surface, originally for ADG, but you can fight battles on it according to all the rules. Nevertheless, this surface is too small for DBMM240 pairs. 120x90cm is required...

Battle of the Nedao 454
This has been on my “to do” list and a recent presentation from History Marche offered some much-needed information. At the blog, is a terrain layout and composition of armies. A report of the battle will be posted this week. dbagora.blogspot.com/2024/04/battle-of-nedao-454.html

The Sassanian battle reports were, as always, interesting. The differing results in particular.
I seem to remember doing a single army Nedao replay with my nephew quite some time ago. Due in part to some Tabletop Goths and Gepids that I had picked up off Ebay, refurbished, and expanded on. Problem back then is that my nephew tended to commit his forces somewhat piecemeal making him less successful.
Might have to have another go at it as I recently brought the Gepids up to BBDBA numbers. Although at this time I would have to use some Scyths in the Hunnic list as I stalled on finishing the Huns due to lack of inspiration on painting those I had primed. Might be a good time to revist them...

Battle of the Nedao 454
The replay is posted to the blog. This proved an interesting scenario to design as combat factors for Hunnic LH and Gepid foot are alike. Destroyed elements occurred slowly, recoils became the constant result. dbagora.blogspot.com/2024/04/battle-of-nedao.html

What, playing a game? What madness is this? We're here to paint multitudes of tiny soldiers! I do paint, but spend time researching before putting point to a brush. Late 5th/early 6th century shield patterns have posed a problem. However, Late Roman/Early Byzantine mosaics helped locate six patterns. Painting begins tomorrow.
