Migration to Kingdom – play testing scenario 409 AD The results of the final scenario have been posted to the blog. This was a good scenario to close the campaign with. Rebellion broke out in different parts of Gallia. Marauding barbarians were fighting one another for their spoils.

The next post will cover an assessment of the entire campaign game.

More Historical Match-ups. I will take a short break from writing and devote time to a number of historical match-ups.
The two Early Byzantine are complete, so the series will pit them against nine enemies of the ‘a’ sub-list. Reports will be posted starting Monday.

Historical match up – Early Byzantine vs. the Nobades. The second match brought both parties to the parched landscape of Upper Egypt.
The Nobades have a good combination of cavalry (Cv), spear (Sp) and archers (3Bw) which are sure to cause problems for a cavalry strong Byzantine army. dbagora.blogspot.nl/2017/02/historical-match-up-early-byzantine-vs.html

...battles in Europe are more in the green nature During my DBM gamer periode i used to field Byzantines but they were mostly shot to peaces... I find the recent matches a nice change from all that greenery. The Nomad Arab, Nobades, Later Moorish, Sassanid and African Vandal are all fought using the arid landscape.
I was sceptical about the Byzantine performing well in this series, but they are quite resilient.
