Brilliant day indeed. I like the matched pairs format. Lots of close games --> the pairs were nicely matched. The Tuarag won only one out of three --> time to put my camels to bed, I think, at least for the time being. Thanks Simon!

Well done to the Bakewell Tarts. Well at least you didn't call us Bakewell Puddings! Simon The one I had for lunch was delicious… Thank you Simon for another fun, efficient, well-run event. DBA works best with historical matches, for sure, so this is an excellent format. As ever, there were situations in games that are not simple to resolve, especially whilst trying to finish a game in a fixed time. Always something to learn. I need a memory upgrade and a processor upgrade too.. I suspect the motherboard is incompatible! Thank you to all for such a friendly-spirited day.

Well, although I came second from bottom, I did learn one thing. Always make sure that you lose the game before lunch as quickly as possible. If it drags on to a draw then you end up cutting into pub drinking time! (And even Super Stevie can’t down three pints in 20 minutes! 🍺 hic! )

Thanks Simon for a great tournament and brownies! Really enjoyed the day even though I managed my one win as usual, I usually set low targets and fail to achieve them. I did however have six enjoyable games, playing a couple of people I haven’t played
Cheers Col
