Greetings Fellow Fanatici,
Following this year's VM in April, I have been asked if there is any interest for a repeat next year BUT due to my existing commitments and Bennet Centre commitments, it would have to be on the first Saturday of February or March. Would there be any interest if those were the likely dates?

Hi Stevie
Last year there was a DBA competition in Bakewell late Jan and one in Coventry early Feb. I'm not sure if Simon and Pete are planning a repeat this year at the same times, but if so I probably wouldn't make Frome this time.
Also the Northern Cup is usually the first Sat in March although I can't see a date for next year yet, maybe Paul knows? If it is the first Sat in March that may knock out quite a few potential entrants.
Cheers

I’ll endeavour to attend, once you fix a date Martin (nb Alton is 15th April)

What they said. I couldn't conceive of not going to Hammerhead. It would be like going to Bakewell and not eating Brownie.

OK fanatici, it looks like we are well catered for DBA competitions at that time. I will look at dates later in the year, it will have to be a first Saturday in a month however, as that is when we have the Bennett Centre. Once I have found some prospective dates I will post here.

Always tight, trying to fit in a DBA date, now things are vaguely ‘back to normal’. First Saturday of April is the 1st…yes, it’s only two weeks prior to Alton, but still might work OK? It’s roughly how things were spaced this year (-ish…). Might that work for the Frome venue in 2023? Or too close…?

I would like to suggest that I create a separate e-mail distribution list for UK DBA/HOTT Tournament organisers or potential organisers so that we can exchange plans and so avoid clashes or near misses and create a coherent calendar of events. We are in the fortunate position of seeing the numbers of tournaments grow and people are clearly willing to travel some distance to attend. As far as I can see the main organisers are myself, Paul Murgatroyd, Martin Smith, Portsmouth Bill, Martin Myers, Mark Skelton, Pete Duckworth, Tim Kohler, "Berkley" and "allnewstevie."
I am happy to co-ordinate this.
Cheers
Simon

I know there is a calendar function on this forum, but in my humble opinion it's not overly user friendly or obvious - otherwise we'd already be using it? If we wanted to use that, we could perhaps agree a format or naming convention to set apart tournaments in different countries? Don't want to hijack Steve Etheridge's original post, but this gets thumbs up from me!

There are some events on the calendar but not many, but is that because it's hard to put stuff on or is it just not used?
When checking on what events were on last year I went back through the tournament tab, but if events were entered on the calendar that might help everyone see what's coming up? It would also help if some new person wanted to create a new DBA or HOTT event but they weren't part of the current organisers e-mail group.
