I have sent the following message to the group:
Important Announcement Regarding the SoloDNAdelopment Yahoo Group
Yahoo will stopping users uploading files to the group on 28th October 2019. They will remove all previously posted content on, or shortly after, 14th December 2019.
All versions of Solo DBA will be removed, so I recommend that everyone who hasn’t done so download anything that they are interested in, or think that they may become interested in later.
This brings me to the future of the group. I don’t think that it will be worth keeping the group going after the files are removed. There isn’t a huge amount of discussion on here. My impression is that most members joined to access the files (which is fine).
If anyone else wants to organise making Solo DBA freely available on the Internet, I would very happy. I would be even more happy if they adapted it for DBA version 3, and developed it further. I don’t play DBA or Hordes of the Things much now because I am working on an alternative. I never really took to version 3 of DBA (although I recognise that it gives many people a lot of pleasure). I will also be posting about this on the Fanaticus site.

Further comment - Some of the users don't receive emails from the group, so would not receive the above message. Many will be on here, though.
The offer to let others make Solo DBA freely available and develop it further (for instance, by doing a version for DBA version 3) applies to anyone, not just members of the Yahoo group, by the way.

I think that here in the “Solo DBx” section of Fanaticus would be an excellent place for discussing such projects...after all, that’s what it’s for. And any existing solo systems could be placed in the Fanaticus Wiki for all to see. (My own solo version of DBA 3.0 is far from completion, but when I finally do get around to finishing it, I intend to post it here for discussion before placing it in the Wiki, as the Wiki is best for finalized completed stuff rather than something that needs constant updating and amending)Some Helpful Downloads can be found here: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Reference_sheets_and_epitomes And here is the latest Jan 2019 FAQ: fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ_2019_1st_Quarter

Sorry for the delay in replying. That sounds like an excellent suggestion, Stevie. I will try to find out who is able to upload into the Wiki.

Oh, anyone can add stuff to the Wiki... ...but the Fanaticus Wiki can be a bit of a nightmare to use. * First you’ll need to set up an account (username, e-mail address, password, that sort of thing). * Once you’ve logged in, you need to click on the ‘down arrow’ next to ‘Edit’ and pick ‘Classic Editor’. * Then click on ‘Photo’ (it thinks that all the stuff I’ve placed on there is a ‘Photo’) to upload your file. * Last of all click on ‘Publish’. It would probably be best to have a whole new section called “Solo DBA” rather than adding it to any of the existing Wiki sections (take a look at fanaticus-dba.fandom.com/wiki/Fanaticus_DBA_Wikia ) If you’re having trouble let me know via private message...if I can suss it out anybody can (well, eventually). Alternatively you could just ask Greedo or myself to bung stuff in there for you. Thank you Stevie. I think I have done it. I will keep my login details in case anyone wants me to put unfinished versions for DBA 1.1 or 2.2+ on.

Piyan Glupak, I saw your entry about your Solo DBA rules. I have been playing DBA wargames in a solo campaign and basically play myself vs. myself. It's fun, but I like randomization too. I will be trying DBS. However I would like to look at your rules (latest is OK). I see the Yahoo Group went away, and I was too late to retrieve anything. Have you made your rules available yet? If not, is there someway I could see them. Thank you. Dale

Hello Dale. I still have copies of Solo DBA on my computer. (I presume that it is Solo DBA that you are interested in.) Solo DBA has 3 slightly different versions for different versions of DBA. The completed one is for DBA 2.2. There are unfinished versions optimised for DBA 1.1 and 2.2+. The versions for DBA 2.2 and DBA 1.1 are on the Fanaticus Wiki, which is accessible from this site. I haven't added the version for the DBA 2.2+ because there didn't to be seem any interest in it.
If you have any difficulty finding Solo DBA on the Fanaticus Wiki, or it is the unfinished version for 2.2+ that you want, please let me know. If you need me to email one or more versions to you, it might be better if you send me a personal message on this site. I try to visit Fanaticus fairly frequently. Regards,
Richard
