hello Folks!
i want to build an Ming IV/73 army, and i found that it's quite hard to find miniatures for this!
i found grumpy miniatures, but it's in Australia and i'm from France so the shipping cost is quite high,
maybe i could build it from Essex Chinese? do you have an idea to get the rights figures (Cavalry, artillery, footmen...) for artillery i found the Korean rocket launcher (XEQ19 if i remember well) but i still need another one...
some other ideas?
thanks, Eric

Eric The Essex Sung Chinese are good for Ming Foot (in fact better for Ming than for Sung Peter Pig have the Chinese Whellbarrow rocket launcher (sans crew) When I built my Ming I used a some Grumpy Miniatures for the Cav, Outpost Ching Dynasty sword and halberdiers for the Bd and a mix of TTG Boxer types for the Hordes I think I used Khurusan Miniatures Southern Tribesmen for the Tribal Ax. The Essex Sung are probably your best bet - one of my friends did an amazing DBM Ming using mostly those, and he scratch built his rocket launchers Cheers

...my next project is also a Ming army. I 'll use Sung minies from Essex with a few Korean halbarders & a few Ching Chinese from Outpost & the rocket thrower from Peter Pig...

ok thanks, and what do you think of the Khurasan Sung Chinese Cavalry? I love the whole Khurusan Sung range (I have a Southern Sung painted and a Northern Sung keyed up for attention soon) - not certain that their Cav would fit well into the Ming era.
However I would recommend getting the Sung Command Pack - their CinC figure looks spectacular and would fit in with the Ming perfectly.
You may want to consider basing him singly and just calling him a Cv general element as he takes up a lot of space - but well worth it.
Look on the DBA Facebook groups for pix of my Ming and Sung armies
Cheers
